Strawberry Crumble Recipe: How was your Holi weekend peeps? I have totally had one sweet too many! Holidays are supposed to be indulgence times,so its okay I guess 😛
This dish too, which I am sharing with you today is a massive bonanza of a dessert 🙂 Think simple strawberries and cream…now amp it up with almonds, flaky crunchy crust, and jazz up the strawberries in a hot mess !! This strawberry crumbles recipe gives a crunchy, rich and decadent mouthful. Eat this warm with chilled ice cream or heavy cream. You will experience heaven on earth! Err…seems like I have played it up too much? Try it out and see for yourself :p

Ingredients Required for Making Strawberry Crumble :
- Fresh Strawberries 2 Cups Hulled and Sliced
- 1/2 Cup Sugar ( This is the perfect amount of sugar, any more and it will be too sweet and heavy )
- 1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
- 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 4-5 Tablespoon chilled cold butter
- 3/4 Cup Almonds
Method of Making Strawberry Crumble :
Take Half a cup of almonds and grind them into a fine powder. Also, powder 1/4 cup of regular sugar. Mix the two well. In any pie dish, layer on all the strawberries in an even layer in the bottom. Sprinkle the almond and sugar powder over this.
Now, in a separate bowl, sieve together the all-purpose flour and baking powder. To this add chilled butter. The butter needs to be really cold. Work with your hands and mix the butter in. It should look like coarse oatmeal. This what will give our crumble texture.
Now its the question of simple assembly. We have already layered on the strawberries and almond powder. Mix the remaining 1/4 cup, unpowdered sugar with this buttery flour. Tumble this and roughly chopped almonds over the almond flour layer. Try to make the covering as even as possible. Press lightly with your hands.
Now Bake it on 200 degree Celsius for 30-40 minutes. By this time the top two would have become set crunchy and brown. In the last 1 minute microwave on high for 1 minute. The strawberry will ooze out from some portions. Trust me, that’s a part of its appeal 🙂
Your crumble is ready !! Let it sit for 10-12 minutes. Serve along with chilled heavy cream or ice cream. Warm strawberry crumble- chilled cream—now you tell me– is it not heaven in a bowl? 😉 Enjoy!!
