Who is this for? Shea Moisture African Black Soap is particularly for those with sensitive dry and problem skin that is lightly irritated. If you need a gentle cleanser, you would want to consider this.
PRICE: $ 4.99
This is suitable for those with sensitive skin. Biggest mistake which people do after using it is not use a toner and noncomedogenic moisturizer. That is really bad for sensitive skin. If used alone, it is bound to dry skin out over time. Don’t fall into the trap of over cleansing.
My Experience with the Shea Moisture African Black Soap
Packaging: This is a huge bar of soap. I cut it into 4-5 pieces and use this. It lasts me a good two months. I suggest you do the same 🙂
Texture: that’s a bar of soap that lathers decently, not too too much. Also, toes do not melt easily as other regular soaps do.
Fragrance: Lovely raw shea butter scent. Not too strong, faint and pleasant.
Effectiveness: I have been using this to wash my face and body regularly for a month now. It soothes my skin and prevents further acne. BUT, I always tone and moisturize thereafter.
Just the fact that it has shea butter in it, does not mean you don’t use a moisturizer. It means it will not dry your skin out. But, at the end of the day, it is soap. All soaps are drying if not followed up with toning and moisturizing.
You should consider buying this for problem skin. It is gentle and helps repair your skin in the longer run.
