My Experience with NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer 03 Beige

Packaging-

This concealer comes in a transparent plastic tube but the body of the tube is almost covered with a black label sticker. The tube rests inside a cardboard outer packaging.The sticker mentions some of the detailed information about the product and the rest of the details are mentioned in the outer cardboard pack. The packaging is sleek and sturdy. I can carry it easily not worrying about spillage.

Shade & Texture-

In India, this concealer is available in 10 shades; everybody is going to find something for their skin tone. My shade is 03 Beige. The shade Beige is correcting concealer on my skin tone. It has distinguishable yellow tones for concealing dark circles or pigmented areas of the face. I would have to go a shade lighter to get me highlighting concealer. The texture of this concealer is super creamy and that is why its blending capability is awesome. Its consistency is on the thicker side so it needs to be set with a powder.

Coverage-

The coverage is medium and most importantly buildable. I have pretty bad dark circles and it is able to hide that wisely. In the swatches, you are seeing the effect of only this concealer. I have not used any base makeup. The coverage is increased when a foundation backs up. The purple tones, however, remain under my eyes; I need to use an orange corrector to get rid of it.

Fragrance-

It is a fragrance-free product.

Staying Power-

The staying power of this concealer is 5-6 hours in my case (in less humidity). After 2-3 hours the creasing starts. Thankfully the creamy texture allows just a little blending with fingertips to solve the creasing issue.

Experience-

I have been using this NYX concealer for a few days now and the result has been good so far. This concealer, is the exact match for my skin, can be used in both day and evening looks. I have a highlighting concealer from Fit Me! range but I can’t use it for day looks. Consistency wise the NYX one is thicker than the Fit Me! and is more blendable. I am getting more product in the NYX one so price wise it is a good deal. Coverage is however very similar for both the cases. It gives better coverage than NYX’s Dark Circle Concealer.

This concealer gives the very natural look and blends itself with rest of the face. It does not make the eye area look alienated from the face. Every concealer creases on my under eyes and this one is not an exception too. But the important thing here is that I can easily blend the creased area. I don’t need to moisturize my eye area heavily before applying this concealer. In fact, this concealer has a tendency to create more when applied to the overly moisturized skin.

Pros-

1. Medium coverage concealer with blendable texture
2. Yellow undertones brighten up the under eye area
3. Even my heavy dark circles get hidden up to certain extent
4. Creamy texture requires no prior moisturizing
5. Economic product
6. Provides better coverage than NYX’s Under Eye Concealer

Cons-

1. Has creasing issue with most other concealers
2. Needs to be set with powder
3. Might feel heavy in oily eye area
4. Cannot hide severe dark circle completely

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer works well and is economic. So, I am definitely buying again as my go-to product. I would recommend it to all as well!
