My Experience with Nivea Clay Fresh Shower Gel Ginger & Basil
This body wash comes in a pastel blue plastic squeeze bottle with flip open dispenser. The packaging looks very simple and all the Nivea body washes have similar packaging. It’s a leak-proof and sturdy packaging.
Colour & Texture
Though it is named as ‘shower gel’, it has all the qualities of body wash. It is a pale green (in the pictures it is looking almost white though) colored liquid with moderate consistency. It creates creamy foam when lathered.
It has a mild herbal and grassy fragrance. The fragrance is very similar to Garnier’s 5 Precious Herbs range shampoo and Lux Fresh Splash body wash. The smell is not too appealing and does not stay for more than 15-20 minutes after application.
Ease of Application
The application process is very simple. You need to squeeze some wash to your palm or loofa and then rub the wet skin. Finally, wash off with water.
This is a basic purifying body wash. It cleanses the skin without causing dryness. It gets rid of excess oil, sweaty odor and gives a fresh feel.
I love good smelling body washes that cleanse the skin without over-drying. This body washes certainly fits into the last two but its grassy herbal smell is not something I look for in these sweaty summer days. This one gives squeaky clean skin and removes dirt, sweat and body odor. It has Kaolin clay still the formula does not dry out my skin. It takes more water to go off completely which is the case with most shower gels. The wash has 2-3 milder compounds of sulfates but does not have parabens. This one is a creamier version of Lux’s Fresh Splash body wash. The feel is the same and the effect is almost the same.

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?
This is just a basic body cleansing wash that has kaolin clay and sulfates. Nivea’s regular shower gel range has much better-smelling body washes that contain the same things in their ingredient list, do the same thing still come cheaper than this.
