My Experience with Johnson’s Baby Milk + Rice Lotion

Packaging

This lotion comes in a teardrop-shaped transparent plastic bottle with a flip top cap. The cap also has a screw open system. This product is available in 2-3 different sizes. I have bought the travel size. This tiny pack is very sturdy and travel-friendly.

Colour & Texture

This lotion has a translucent white color. Its texture feels creamy and smooth. It gets absorbed into the skin quickly and gives a non-sticky finish.

Fragrance

It has a very light soothing floral fragrance. The fragrance feels really nice. The fragrance does not stay for more than 30 minutes. This kind of light smell is good for the babies as it does not irritate their delicate senses.

Ease of Application

The lotion is very easy to apply. The desired amount of product comes out on a slight squeeze on the bottle. If the extra product comes out, one can put it back through the screw lid.

Effectiveness

This is a lightweight skin moisturizer without a greasy feel. My skin did not react adversely to this. I apply it immediately after washing my face with my regular face wash at night. In the morning the skin feels supple and hydrated.

My Experience

This is the first time I am using this lotion after the controversies involving Johnson’s Baby range. This is their new chemical-free version. This new formula is completely free from harsh chemicals, parabens, phthalates, and artificial colorants. The old formula used to be a little thicker and oilier. This new formula is fast absorbing, non-greasy and comes with extracts of rice bran. Cetyl alcohol is an amazing oil-free moisturizer for acne prone skin (though it has ‘alcohol’ in its name it’s not actually harsh alcohol!). I always look for this ingredient in my moisturizers. This is one of the major ingredients in this moisturizer and that is why this one is working fine on my skin.

Overall Performance of Johnson’s Baby Milk + Rice Lotion

Pros:

1. A light moisturizer with rice bran and milk extracts
2. Non-greasy
3. Softens and rehydrates the skin
4. Does not contain phthalates, parabens, and colorants
5. Balances pH level of the skin
6. Good moisturizer to use before makeup
7. Does not irritate the skin

Cons:

1. None for me!

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

I have been using this for years now and will be buying it again for sure. I would recommend it to adults with normal to dry or combination skin.
