What are Home Remedies of Chicken Pox Scar Removal? Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral infection. Once in a lifetime, almost everybody faces it. It causes an itchy, blister-like rash all over the skin. Although several vaccines have been introduced which has reduced this infection but the most dangerous thing in chickenpox is its scars. It may take a lot of time to get away with these scars. Some people scratch them so much that they affect skin more.

  2. Take bath in oatmeal or try baking soda baths

Some Home remedies to remove chicken pox scars are-

  1. Aloe Vera:

Aloe Vera has the capability to reduce the skin temperature hence can help reducing burning or itching while the pox is being treated. The enzyme of Aloe Vera moistens the skin cells, helps in tissue regeneration and cell turnover. If applied daily, you will notice your scars getting light and Aloe Vera will heal them soon.

How to apply it?

Take Aloe Vera gel and rub it on spot thrice a day. Wait for 10-15 minutes to get it dry and get soaked into the skin and then rinse it off with cold water.

  1. Lemon:

Lemon is a great source of Vitamin C and studies have found that it helps in the production of collagen and prevents the formation of free radicals. Along with that, it has anti-viral properties that help the skin to fight off with the infection. Daily use of lime will help you to lighten your skin by treating dark spots.

How to apply it?

Squeeze the lime and add honey to the juice. Tap it on your spots by using cotton balls and wait for 10 minutes. Wash it off with cold water afterward.

  1. Honey:

Honey has a lot of antioxidants. Its daily use helps do away with any kind of spots and marks on the face or body. It will give a shine to your skin and make it bright and flawless.

How to apply it?

Take a tablespoon of honey and rub it on your spots for 5 minutes. Wait to get it soaked into the skin and rinse off with cold water.

  1. Coconut oil:

Coconut oil has a solution for everything. It heals all kinds of acne and can dry your wounds. During your treatment too, coconut oil can help to protect your skin from redness and itchiness.

How to apply it?

Massage the coconut oil, gently, on your scars and wait to get it soaked. Wipe or rinse it off afterward.

  1. Lavender Oil:

Lavender oil is useful in the beginning phase of scar treatment. It is antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant oil which deals with all the kinds of infections. Applying it with a night penetrating cream will help it get into the skin better resulting in skin cell regeneration and turn over.

How to apply it?

Apply the mixture of lavender oil and a night penetrating cream onto the scars and wait till it settles on the skin. Wipe off the remaining cream with the help of a piece of cloth or something.

But the best thing you can do is to avoid getting chickenpox in first place for which early vaccination is recommended. Also, try not to be around somebody who is having Chickenpox as said above, it is highly contagious and even after getting vaccinated you can have it from the person already affected.
