Wet n Wild is finally here! These are the kind of drugstore makeup brands that we have forever been waiting for,  not to mention that their performance has bawled us over at such a low cost that I think everyone must pick up a few of these budget beauties. I’ll soon be sharing my haul with you and the first one that I am going to pen down is Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in the shade, Cherry Frost.

What Does The Brand Claim

We’ve never quite understood why others make you spend over 20X as much on something that we give you for next to nothing. Our lipstick formula contains all the same things as the other guys: rich color, vitamins A & E, aloe vera, and really feels like putting silk on your lips. If you’re already thinking “That is a crazy bargain,” we’ve now added macadamia nut oil that contains antioxidants to hydrate your lips for a smooth, supple pout. Are we just crazy? Have we gone too far? Or do you deserve it? We definitely think so! One try, and we guarantee you will declare this your best lipstick brand of life.

My Experience With Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick Cherry Frost

Packaging- The lipstick comes in a simple plain black bullet with a transparent cap which shuts tightly enough so I am not complaining about the packaging at all. Nothing fancy but simple and classic.

Texture and Consistency- The lipstick Cherry Frost belongs to the Silk range so the texture of the lipstick is moist and moisturizing. The lipstick suggests frost and it does have gold glitter throughout the lipstick which isn’t much noticeable on the lips but still adds a glimmer to it.

Fragrance- A slight fruity fragrance hits your nostrils for around 40 mins after application after which the fragrance just fades away. It is a sharp fruity fragrance though just a mild one.

Experience- I am not a fan of frosted lipsticks, to be honest but I am deeply in love with all shades of red and couldn’t resist buying this one too. This was rather a buy out of curiosity and I knew one doesn’t go wrong with any shade of red. The lipstick glides on easily without tugging at your lips and at the same time it doesn’t look as if it is about to drip off your lips or something- I think it has just the right amount of moisturization. The pigmentation is heavy so one swipe is going to give you a full burst red color on your lips.

Now let me point out one thing in this lipstick and that is the frosted texture of the lipstick. When applied on the lips the lipstick imparts a slight sheen to the lips but unlike pearly frost, this lipstick has a golden frost which isn’t really visible on the lips but when I rub it off I saw that it had an even distribution of minute golden glitters throughout. However, the glitters aren’t visible when on the lips. The lipstick stays on for 4 hours without fading and then if you eat something in between then you can expect it to transfer easily because of its wet texture. Even after it fades the red tint is left behind so you don’t look as if you are complete without lipstick. Otherwise, it has a pretty good stay of 6 hours.

Overall Performance of Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick Cherry Frost

Pros –

  • Heavily pigmented
  • Glides on easily on the lips
  • Smooth texture
  • Doesn’t highlight lip imperfections
  • One swipe is enough for coverage
  • Decent stay of 4-6 hours
  • Mild pleasant fragrance
  • Super Affordable

Cons-

  • The sheen might not be liked by some if you like muted red shades.

Would I Repurchase and Recommend?

Well definitely yes to anyone who is looking for a deep red shade that has a sheen to it too. If you don’t want the sheen to look then skip it. I manage to use mine with a little dusting powder and it works pretty well for me making it Matte 🙂

Rating- 4.5

Absolutely mallika. They are great. I am surprised as to why they were not introduced in India before.
