VLCC Walnut Face Scrub Review

by Mallika Dharmani

Exfoliation is a must at least two times in a week. Now some of us prefer the natural scrubs while others might prefer the easy readymade stuff out there. Not just that there are a variety of scrubs in the market that have different claims and one of the most common one that you can find out there is a walnut scrub. Walnut and Apricot are like the most common scrubs you will ever come across if you shop for a good scrub. While some of the scrubs out there are gritty there are others too which are too finely milled that might even be used on an everyday basis because they don’t prove to be as abrasive as an average scrub. One such scrub that I came across which I safely call a soft scrub is the VLCC Walnut Face Scrub. Though I had high expectations from this one it didn’t exactly meet the benchmark for me. Let’s discuss this product in detail from here.

My Experience With VLCC Walnut Face Scrub

PACKING –

The scrub comes in a tube packed with a flip cover as an opening. Squeeze out the desired amount that you like easily.

Travel-friendly and the top close quite firmly.

TEXTURE AND CONSISTENCY-

The scrub has a creamy texture and is quite smooth too. It’s a whitish cream scrub which looks slightly gray too and is full of particles which are brown and black in color which looks like it’s the walnut shell particles.

FRAGRANCE –

the scrub doesn’t have a very noticeable fragrance –it’s a mild fragrance smelling something like soap or a light astringent. I had to smell it on purpose in order to describe something about the smell. Otherwise, I hardly noticed anything while using it.

EXPERIENCE

Well before I actually tell you guys anything about this scrub let me tell you I wasn’t really satisfied with it.

I used it on my skin a couple of times after my face wash and the results were ok! Nothing revolutionary about the product though.

Personally, I felt that the scrub had more of crème and less of the scrubbing particles than it should have. The proportion of the scrub to the crème isn’t really matched.

I like my scrubs to be slightly abrasive – I mean it should feel more like a scrub than a massage cream.

To be honest, this scrub has particles that do provide scrubbing action but you won’t really feel the particles scrubbing your skin- it’s actually quite gentle which I think would make it a perfect scrub for people who have acne or pimples as acne prone skin can’t really stand abrasive scrubs.

For me, I think it was a bit too soft.

I even tried to take another squeeze of it as I wanted more of those particles deposited on my face to give me that scrubbing feels.

I literally counted the particles and in a pea sized amount, I could only find 8 brown particles!!!

Once I was through with scrubbing my skin did feel soft and supple, but I have seen other inexpensive scrubs do a better job  so I m not really going to be impressed with this one for making my skin smooth. I mean I have felt my skin to be supeeeerrr soft after scrubbing so NO! I expected better.

VLCC Walnut Face Scrub 4

PROS –
  1. Makes skin soft
  2. Doesn’t dry out skin at all
  3. Moisturizing Scrub
CONS-
  1. Less particles
  2. Present particles quite small in size
  3. More cream less scrub
  4. Really mild action
  5. Product disappears after a few minutes, need a fresh helping too!
My Recommendation?

Well, I would strongly recommend this scrub to people who have sensitive skin, sunburnt skin, and acne prone skin or already have a lot of acne.

You can also use this scrub once in two weeks for your young teenage children or siblings teaching them skin care at an early stage.

For me, I would prefer something which is more of a SCRUB!
