There are various tools available for applying and blending foundation including makeup sponges, beauty blenders, stippling brushes. Each of the tools has its share of advantages, disadvantages and of course ability to use Foundation’s coverage for the user’s benefit. Among all these choices flat foundation brush is certainly my first choice when I want good coverage from my foundation. The flat surface of foundation brush literally paints the face with the foundation that in turn helps to blur the appearance of pores and any other imperfections like acne marks. Today I am going to share my views on Vega Foundation Brush. I am not at all a pro at makeup. I got this comparatively affordable foundation brush to try my hands on full coverage makeup. Read on to find out how it worked.

Details about Vega Foundation Brush

What is it?

Vega Foundation Brush is a flat foundation brush that can be used to apply, distribute and blend foundation into all areas of the face. This brush promises to provide smooth and even finish to create a flawless makeup look.

Price- Rs.225 for 1 piece

Sensitive Skin Alert?

No.

Natural/Vegan/Organic?

No. It is a synthetic bristle brush.

My Experience with Vega Foundation Brush

Packaging- The brush comes in a glue-sealed plastic see-through packaging. There is a cardboard flap provided inside the clear plastic wrapping to prevent damages in transit. On the backside of the cardboard flap, there are some instructions and claims mentioned regarding the product. Considering the price point, the packaging seems okay but I cannot call it a secure packaging. I do not carry the brush on its own packaging. I keep it in my own brush pouch that is why my brush looks good after 2 years of usage.

How the Brush Looks- The brush in itself is quite sturdy. It has a long polished wooden handle and a black shiny metallic holder. The bristles are held together by the holder.

Bristle Texture- The bristles are colored in yellow and black. The end of the brush is rounded and tapered. The rounded shape helps to apply foundation on every nook and corners of the face. The tapered head makes the blending process quicker and easier. My brush is completely cruelty-free because its bristles are synthetic.

How I Use It- I have applied various base makeup items with it. My product list includes Lakme Perfecting Foundation, Lakme Invisible finish foundation, Maybelline BB cream, Pond’s BB cream, Lakme CC cream and Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. It gives best results when the foundation has sufficient amount of oily substance in it or has high bendability. That is the reason it gives a flawless finish with Maybelline Fit Me, Lakme Invisible Finish and Maybelline BB cream. With water based foundations or products with thicker formula, the finish is streaky. I have experienced pathetic outcomes when I tried to apply Lakme perfecting foundation with this brush.

I have washed the brush a few times following the washing instruction provided by Vega. I have experienced no shedding of the bristles.

I find Vega Foundation Brush to be a decent budget-friendly flat foundation applicator that is able to blend medium density liquid foundations flawlessly.

Pros-

  1. Blends creamy liquid foundations nicely
  2. Provides good coverage
  3. No shedding of bristles
  4. Easily available
  5. Economic and beginner-friendly

Cons-

  1. Gives streaky finish with water-based foundations
  2. Does not fit into small makeup pouches because of its long handle

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

I will recommend Vega Foundation Brush to the newbies in the makeup world who wish to get the feel of a flat foundation brush. My brush has been working nicely after 2 whole years and it is showing no signs of decay till now. So, I am not going to repurchase it. I might try a new foundation brush if I ever get bored of it :).
