Trisha was born to a Tamil Brahmin family in Palakkad Kerala. Her father Krishnan was a General Manager in a Five Star Hyderabad Hotel. Her mother Uma Krishnan is a homemaker who helped shaping her career to a great extent. In 2012, her father passed away. Currently, she lives with her mother and grandmother.
Since the starting phase of Trisha’s acting career, her name was linked to multiple showbiz people including popular Tamil actor Vijay and Bahubali fame Rana Daggubati. In 2015 she was engaged to a Chennai businessman and producer Varun Manian but their relationship did not flourish.
Trisha Krishnan did her schooling from Sacred Heart Matriculation School, in Church Park, Chennai. She enrolled for BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) course from Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai but due to her tight schedule, she had to face difficulties in managing time for her studies during her graduation years.
Career & Awards:
Trisha Krishnan started her film career as an uncredited supporting role of main lead’s friend in 1999 Tamil musical movie Jodi though her big breakthrough will be Priyadarshan’s Lesa Lesa. In the later years, she made her debut in other regional movies and Bollywood. Trisha got her first main role in 2002 Tamil film Mounam Pesiyadhe opposite Tamil superstar Suriya. After that, blockbuster movies Saamy (2003) and Ghilli (2004) marked her career path in the Tamil movie industry. Her performance as the middle-class girl Sailaja in her Telugu debut movie Varsham (2004) brought huge praise and she got her first South Filmfare Award in the Best Actress category. Tamil action movie Ghilli, released the same year. Again proved to be another blockbuster in her career and according to popularity it still remains her most successful work. She got two more Filmfare Awards in her career for her excellent performance in Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005) and Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Ferrule (2007). In her 20 year-long movie career she appeared in more than 60 movies in multiple languages. Some of her best movies are Kireedam against Ajith Kumar, Krishna opposite Ravi Teja, Bujjigadu opposite Prabhas, King co-starring Akkineni Nagarjuna, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa opposite Silambarasan, Mankatha and Yennai Arindhal against Ajith Kumar, Bodyguard opposite Dileep, Samar opposite Vishal Krishna. She has been the winner for multiple Nandi awards. In 2010 she made her Bollywood debut in Khatta Meetha against Akshay Kumar.
