I’ve always till now talked about the products that worked for my skin and hair but never for the products that were of no use to me. It is a universal fact that each and every person has a different taste in all aspects and are different from each other. It is also applied in the case of beauty. Each and every person has a slightly different skin type. We normally categorize skin types in three different ways – Oily, Dry and Combination but in reality, each and everyone’s skin is slightly different from the other individual. Thus, makeup, skincare, haircare companies put up a lot of effort to create a product that can suit everyone, if not everyone, at least to maximum people but still, some products come to us as disappointing ones. It is of no shock as everybody has a different taste and like, which may or may not be suitable to others. What works for my skin, may not work for you and what does not work for me, can be your holy grail product. Here I would list three different products that didn’t work for me and why.
- Revlon Colorstay Exactify Liquid Liner – Black
- Dove Shampoo – Any Variant
- Lux Soap – Any Variant
All the three products didn’t work for my skin and hair even though these products are well known and favorite of many people. Let me get in details about these products :
1.Revlon Colorstay Exactify Liquid Liner – Black :
This liner is not one of the common kinds. Usually, liners are liquid or pen that comes with a tip or gel that comes with a brush. This liner is liquid but it comes with a wheel tip. I’ve heard great reviews on this and many people I know prefer it over others but I’m not one of them. The wheel tip makes it difficult to apply. It’s just not the tip, as it is included in packaging but the formulation of the liner. Not a very big fan of it. It claims that it is smudge-proof and waterproof, the later does what it claims, but the former one? When I applied it and carefully rubbed the crease of my eye(carefully by not touching the liner) a little smudged off too. Moreover, it didn’t last long in my eyes. It is glossy and it does not twig your eyes, but it did smudge and it is not long-lasting(for me). I’m not putting up these words after a single-use, but I did give it another chance and tried thrice to get to my final opinion on this liner.
A pic showing why this liner is not used by me :
Dove Shampoo – Any Variant :
This product, no doubt is one of the best selling hair care products. I have tried different varieties of dove hair care products – shampoos and conditioners made for different issues, but the sad part is – both the shampoo and conditioner didn’t work for me. I’ve tried Hair fall, Intense Repair and other variants but in the end all of them lead to my hair fall. I also gave this product many attempts but all the trials led to it not working for me. I even tried for it after a long span of time, say months, but i guess the shampoo wasn’t made for me.
Here is a pic showing hair fall just after I comb my hair washing it with that shampoo :
Lux Soap – Any Variant :
Another product that is hyped a lot, works for millions of people but not for me. I noticed that when I use this product, it absorbs excess oil from my skin and thereby end it leaving dry. After using the soap, I could feel my skin got extremely dry and patchy and there were white lines visible. I tried this product too thrice to make sure its worth but this didn’t makeup to my skincare. Even after applying a moisturizer I was able to feel the dryness. And after that too, after scratching softly on my hands, I could see my skin getting patchy.
Here is a pic showing how dry my skin would get after washing it :
All these products may be your holy grail, but my skin or hair didn’t makeup to it.

Same happens with me with Garnier. Nothing works at all.
