The Body Shop is a very famous skin care and makeup line which was launched in India after its huge success in other countries. The main highlight of these products is that they are parabens free, silicone free and made of organic ingredients. The main motto of this brand is to enrich the environment, not exploit it.

The Body Shop Strawberry Lip Butter Review 1

Brand claims

The brand claims to be the most ethical and sustainable global business. It claims to use pure, organic, paraffin free, silicone free and parabens-free products. Also, a part of the company’s profit is shared with the poor children of Kenya and other underdeveloped countries. This lip balm claims to give the smoothest, kissable lips overnight.

How to use

Prior to the application on lips, it is recommended to scrub off the lips using a scrub or a brush to remove the dead skin cells so as to expose the new skin and moisturize it effectively. Recommended to apply during the night only.

The Body Shop Strawberry Lip Butter Review 2

Packaging

It is packed in a cute, little container which is red in color (showing that the flavor is strawberry).

Fragrance

It has a very mild, strawberry kind of fragrance which stays on until the lip balm lasts.

Experience

Body Shop never disappoints me but this particular product is not so great. It doesn’t really make lips baby soft (Other lip balms from Body Shop are indeed amazing). This particular product is ideal for applying during the night only, since on application during the day, attracts too much dirt (owing to the pollution in cities nowadays!) and in turn chaps and cracks the lips heavily making it even worse.

The Body Shop Strawberry Lip Butter Review 3

Overall performance of The Body Shop Strawberry Lip Butter

Pros

  • Nice mild fragrance
  • Cute container

Cons

  • Not worth the price
  • Not ideal to apply during the daytime
  • Doesn’t keep the lip moisturized
  • Doesn’t last long
  • Need to use fingers every time which is so gross (blister tubes are better right?!).

Would I repurchase or recommend?

Unfortunately no! This product is not worth the hype. It does soothe dry, chapped lips but if applied during the daytime, attracts too much dirt. It is very sticky in nature and if it is applied during the day time, it causes the lips to chap and cracks like crazy. I would give this product a 2/5. I would only recommend it for people who have normal lips, not for those who have chapped, dry lips like mine!
