My Experience with The Body Shop Rainforest Volume Shampoo:

My hair used to be thick and luscious. But with the course of time, they lost their volume and shine L. My mom blamed it on the shampoos that I use. She says you are ruining your hair with all these chemical laden products. I actually stopped using any shampoo for a while and switched to homemade hair cleansers (amla shikakai/ curd…). But owing to my oily scalp, I had to wash my hair every other day. And the homemade thing was not at all convenient. Though, it worked great.

Then somebody suggested me to try TBS shampoo. It’s completely sulfates and parabens free. My mom didn’t waste a minute and got one for me. I have tried few other products from The Body Shop (already reviewed Smoky Rose Body Wash) and loved it. So, I was also very hopeful about it.

It comes in a brown colored plastic bottle with a flip cap. It has water- like consistency and is transparent. As per the directions are given, I poured a small amount on the hands, mix with water to form a lather. But it all fell from the hand (because the shampoo itself is very runny). Then I used a mug to mix. It didn’t lather as desired. After washing, I could still feel the oil in my scalp. So I had to wash again.

The Body Shop Rainforest Volume Shampoo Review

I don’t know why the brand claims about the volume. It is exactly the opposite. Hair feels damp and heavy. Even after excessive washing and rinsing, the oil doesn’t come out. I don’t use dryers or other styling products; even then it made my hair dry and frizzy. My hair looked the worst after drying. The only thing I like about this shampoo is its amazing fragrance.

Nonetheless, The Body Shop Rainforest Volume shampoo can be an ideal gift for those who want to experiment and spoil their hair   :P

Positives
  1. Free of Sulphates, Parabens, and colorants
  2. Nice fragrance
  3. Travel-friendly
Negatives
  1. Does not lather
  2. Makes hair dry and frizzy
  3. Doesn’t add volume at all, as the brand claims
  4. Doesn’t remove oil from the scalp
  5. Expensive
Would I repurchase and recommend?

This product is a big disappointment. I used it twice and the bottle is untouched after that. I have kept it aside for my pedicures and manicures.

Don’t go for it simply because it’s natural (the reason I picked it up), it is not worth the money.
