The Body Shop is a world famous brand which has its mark for their organic and hand packed items. Also, they never test their product on animals and some part of the profit goes to the development of countries like Kenya. They don’t use zinc, tin and other harmful chemicals in the preparation of their products which is a huge plus-point.

Tired of pulling out those irritating blackheads and whiteheads? Fed up with the peel-off masks that hurt like crazy? Don’t panic, “The Body Shop” has come to your rescue. The Body Shop has released a new range of masks for purification, glow, and moisturization respectively… Some of us might have tried the conventional Elmer’s glue and charcoal combination mask but it has been proved that in the long run, usage of Elmer’s glue or any other non-toxic will end up producing more whiteheads since it contains some substances which are not for the skin, glue is to stick sheets, not your face! The Himalayan Charcoal mask is different, it is 100 percent vegetarian and is parabens-free, silicone-free, mineral-free, and paraffin-free. To add up, it contains Bamboo charcoal, tea tree oil, and green tea leaves. Hold on, this is not just any normal bamboo charcoal; it is from the Himalayan foothills, green tea leaves from Japan and tea tree oil from Kenya. Charcoal is known to draw out all impurities from the place it is used at. Tea tree oil is known to clear out blemishes, reduce acne and help draw out excess sebum from the face. Green tea is rich in antioxidant and catechins which are exfoliating, healing as well as cooling.

My Experience with the Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

LOOK AND FEEL: It comes in a tiny glass jar of 75ml (86 g). It is brownish in color and contains small beads of green tea leaves which can be sensed while applying it. It has a very soothing, Ayurvedic type of smell which is pretty good.

USAGE: Apply this mask evenly onto the face avoiding the lip and eye area and leave for 10 minutes. This is a mud mask, hence it dries off really soon, so be careful and make sure you don’t give facial expressions which will alleviate the effect of the mask. Wash off with warm water in circular motion thereby exfoliating the dead cells gently from the face.

RESULTS: Immediate results that are noticeable are detoxified skin, diminished pores, and clear looking skin. On consistent application, it helps remove all the blackheads and gives a youthful appearance, with a dewy glow.

MY EXPERIENCE: The first time I tried this mask, I had a tingly sensation on my entire face. I was a little skeptical before buying this product since it is very much on the expensive side. It costs a whopping Rs.2495 for 75 ml. But my experience after the first time was amazing. I could clearly see the difference. It is worth every penny. If you have oily skin, then this is a boon for all you girls out there (and the boys too!). I could see that my skin looks and feels rejuvenated, even and no excess oil at all. I could also see that my pores were unclogged and their size had diminished. After using it for about 3 weeks, I could also see that the marks that I had because of acne were also almost gone.

I would definitely recommend this product to all those girls with oily skin and whiteheads. Of course it is on the pricier side, but in the long run, it is much safer and gives long standing results. I would give this product 4.5/5 and the reduction is 0.5 is for its extremely high price.
