St. Ives Timeless Skin Apricot Scrub Review

What is it and who is it for? St. Ives Timeless Skin Apricot Scrub is A mild apricot based scrub, suitable for mature and dry skin.Among one of the many secrets of youthful skin, an important secret is an exfoliation. As our skin becomes older…the natural process of shedding dead skin becomes slower. As a result, the dead skin cells keep piling on. This causes dull and lifeless skin. I have written about exfoliation in my Basic skincare Routine article. Do read that for a beginners guide to skincare 🙂

Coming back to the point now, you must exfoliate your skin in one manner or the other. Either use Glycolic acid peeling, AHA, BHA products…or use physical exfoliators like scrubs. If you have active acne or irritated skin, you should not exfoliate your skin on your own. It is better to visit a dermatologist for that.

Otherwise, feel free to exfoliate once or twice a week…it really helps the skin!! Today I will be reviewing a very famous face scrub. It is the St Ives Timeless Skin Apricot Scrub. Read on to know its pros and cons 🙂

St. Ives Timeless Skin Apricot Scrub

Price:

Rs 499 for 170 gm

How to Use:

Moisten the face. Apply liberally over face and neck. Massage gently in circular motions. Once the scrub begins to dry, moisten your hands and continue massaging for 5 minutes.

My Experience with St. Ives Timeless Skin Apricot Scrub:

This scrub comes in a nice sturdy tube packaging. I have carried it around for innumerable travels. It is quite traveling friendly.

The scrub itself is not very grainy or harsh. It has less dense apricot kernel particles in a very creamy base. The target here is only mild exfoliation. Being creamy, this scrub prevents the over dryness caused by other scrubs.

As mentioned earlier, I use it once a week. Just keep the scrub, moist and continue to massage face and neck. If you are looking for heavy duty exfoliation, this product is definitely not for you. Since scrub particles are few, it will only mildly exfoliate. If you want heavy duty exfoliation, try rice powder scrubs or the Vitamin C microdermabrasion by The Body Shop.

I consider this to be an excellent product with dry to aging skin types. It will scrub your skin, at the same time; it will soothe and tone it. Plus, since it is mild, you can use it gently, twice a week.

Positives
  1. Mild Scrub
  2. Does not dry the skin
  3. Affordable
  4. Parabens Free
  5. Suitable for aging skin
  6. Can be used multiple times a week
Negatives
  1. A bit Expensive
  2. Not suitable for those who want heavy duty exfoliation
  3. Does not perform microdermabrasion-only mild exfoliation
  4. No significant firming/toning of the skin
Would I repurchase and recommend?

Recommended for mature skin types and only for those, who want a mild scrub.
