There’s something about eyeshadows that is intimidating. It is a totally different ball game as far as makeup is concerned. Eyeshadows require for you to be really confident and embrace yourself. There’s just something raw and edgy about confidently wearing that little amount of pigment and glitter on your eyelids that makes you stand out. My first encounter with eyeshadow was when my best friend forced me to wear it as a part of my farewell look. I was apprehensive, but her artistic hand just made it fit ME. Since then I have been looking for an eyeshadow palette which reflects my individuality and also comes within my price range. This is where The Rock Nudes Maybelline Eyeshadow comes in.
It is Maybelline’s eyeshadow palette, with 12 shades, which range from subtle nudes to edgy browns and blues, from matte to shimmery shades.

My experience with The Rock Nudes Maybelline Eyeshadow
I am a makeup enthusiast, but also an amateur practitioner, so the best thing I like about this product is how Maybelline has provided with a guide at the back, it has really helped me a lot.
The shades are not really well pigmented but that works for me as a beginner because it’s not too much, that I would regret my first miscalculated stroke and not too less, that would have me applying layers of the product before I see the effect. That is my personal opinion, though I think people with more experience might find it to be a little less pigmented according to their liking.
My favorite shade is the shimmery blue one, and for some reason, the white matte one is really satisfying too. Overall it provides some experimental shades and also comes within budget for a beginner.
I also like the fact that it works well for fair and dusky shades.
Packaging-
it comes in a generally rectangular container, with square blocks for the different shades of eyeshadow. I would have liked if there was a mirror on the box.
Texture and color:
the texture is a bit ashy and not as smooth as I would like. The colors are the best part. A wide array of 12 colors are present in this palette. It ranges from subtle hues to hues that enable you to go for a really edgy smokey eye look. Also, the colors range from matte to glittery and glossy.
Odor:
it doesn’t smell really different, just like odorless talc with a bit of chemical tint.
PROS
- Number of colors
- Budget-friendly
- Beginner friendly
- Useful application guide
- Range of colors
- Matte and glossy colors available
CONS
- Pigmentation not strong
- The texture of the eye shadow is not smooth
- The container doesn’t have a mirror.
Would I buy it again? Would I recommend it?
I would prefer buying another palette of the nudes range rather than this again, as for suggesting it, I would suggest it to anyone looking to dive into the eye makeup realm within a budget.
FINAL SCORE- 3.5/5

The shimmer shades are petty but the matte ones seem a little off to me. nice review girl….
To tell you the truth, the shades of this palette made me crave for it but then I saw the original nude palette on sale and went for that.. From your clicks it seems like there are more cool toned shades in here.. This is a perfect palette for smokey eyes. It would have been better if the shades were more pigmented..
Nice review. :love
Your review helped me to get a clear picture of this palette and kudos for that :good:
The shimmer shades excites me more, but the matte shades are off. For a beginners hand, this would be great for practicing my hand :haanji :love
This pallet is way too pricey considering the colour payoff.. Even the darker shades are not popping out.. Moreover all the nude shades just appears similar
It does seem pricey.. bt the quantity here Trumps considering I bought it for some hands-on practice.. any suggestions you have for a beginner would be welcome ♥️♥️
The matte shades are a little off.. bt the shimmer ones make up for it 🙂
