Patanjali Multani Mitti Scrub Review

What is the one basic thing that you look for when you are on the lookout for a scrub? A scrub that actually SCRUBS! The basic thing which makes a scrub a scrub is the amount and type of grains it has for scrubbing the dead skin off. If the amount of the granules is less or they aren’t gritty enough we’ll the scrub isn’t just going to do the job! I have put the Patanjali Multani mitti scrub to the test and read on to know why it is a fail.

Patanjali Saundarya Multani Mitti Face Scrub

Price and Quantity

INR 75 for 50g

How To Use

Apply on wet face, massage gently in a circular motion all over the face and wash with water.

My Experience With Patanjali Multani Mitti Face Scrub

Packaging- The tube is a transparent one which makes it super easy to see how much quantity is left inside. The cover is a flip top one which is leak proof and the tube is sleek and small enough to carry around.

Texture and Consistency- The scrub has a soapy texture and is creamy. If observed carefully the scrub is a little sticky too.

Fragrance- This is ugh! The scrub smells like some cheap jasmine perfume that reeks with a sweetness that can give you a headache with one sniff!

Experience- The scrub was an attraction to me because in the first place it was a Multani mitti scrub and like all products that have mud, I was drawn to this one too but I was highly disappointed when I couldn’t detect any heavenly scent of fresh mud instead I was welcomed with a super sweet stench which I absolutely despised and gave me a headache !

This is the only reason I couldn’t use it frequently so I just gave up on this product.

The product is nowhere near to being called a scrub there are hardly any granules in the product. Very sparse distribution of beads hence the exfoliation or the gritty feel is absent. Unlike other scrubs that are creamy, this one produces a huge lather like some soapy facewash! The base of the scrub is a soap one and the more you massage your face with it the more lather it generates! I feel terrible saying this but it’s pretty much useless as a scrub.

But hey all is not lost the product does other things hence I don’t consider it a waste. It serves as a really nice facewash though. Generates the largest amount of lather, sucks out all the oil from your pores making your skin completely free of every ounce of oil and giving your face a shine free look for a few hours. I used it for a week straight despite the smell to check the performance and I would say it is excellent for anyone who has oily skin or has pimples due to the presence of clay. My skin felt smoother and softer with use and it wasn’t even drying on the skin but skin felt supremely clean after wash 🙂

Patanjali Saundarya Multani Mitti Face Scrub 4

Pros –

  1. As A Scrub (NONE)
  2. As A Facewash Many!
  3. Lathers Well
  4. Takes All The Oil Off
  5. Good Enough For Dissolving Makeup
  6. Skin Feels Softer And Smoother

Cons-

  1. Negligible Amount Of Granules
  2. Soap Base
  3. The Ugly Smell! Yuck! Terribly Sweeeet!

Would I Repurchase and Recommend ?

I would only recommend this to people who aren’t expecting it to work as a scrub but rather as a facewash. People who have oily skin and pimples can use this product for softer smoother and oil-free skin but DONT EXPECT IT TO SCRUB!

Rating- 1(as a scrub)

Otherwise a nice useable facewash.

Loved loved loved the swatches. They are so beautiful mallika. And great review. The part where you explain about what a scrub is, is really well detailed.
