Oriflame Rose Protecting Lip Balm

My experience with Oriflame Rose Protecting Lip Balm

Packaging

It comes in a very cute pink colored tub which I absolutely love. It doesn’t have any applicator and needs to be used with bare hands which increases chances of contamination.

Color and texture

It is translucent in color and has a smooth, waxy, yet easy to apply texture

Fragrance

It smells like artificial roses but it is pleasant

Experience

This is one of the newly launched product and I have known a few facts about roses. They reduce pigmentation of the lips and heal dry, chapped lips and giving them their natural color. When I saw that tender care released in the flavor rose, I rushed to purchase it. I knew about the unhygienic tub packaging but a spatula can always be used. Right?! Now, towards my experience with the product. I had a bad experience with the almond flavored product but had high hopes from the rose one since it said it is a revolutionary product with the goodness of rose oil. I applied it to my lips using a spatula and it had a very lightweight, translucent oily texture. The product stays on the lips for a maximum of 30 minutes and then vanishes without even moisturizing the lips or healing dry, chapped lips. It didn’t do anything miraculous. One thing I observed was when I used it on a daily basis, it made my lips look pretty dark. I have always had dark lips and this worsened the situation. I immediately stopped using the product. But since I gave a huge amount to buy this, I use it on my elbows and knees just as a moisturizer and nothing more. I don’t recommend this product to anyone since it is not worth the price and doesn’t do what it claims to.

Overall performance of Oriflame Rose Protecting Lip Balm

Pros

  • Good rose fragrance
  • Travel-friendly

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Unhygienic tub packaging
  • Does nothing for dry lips
  • Doesn’t stay for long
  • No moisturization
  • Makes lips weirdly oily
  • Doesn’t get absorbed easily
  • Makes lips kind of dark

Would I recommend or repurchase?

No, I will not repurchase this or recommend it to anyone

Rating: 2/5

Glossypolish verdict: The Oriflame rose lip balm has a great fragrance but nothing more than this. No miraculous healing powers or moisturization. The unhygienic tub packaging makes it difficult to use the product if you have long nails. In all, this product is not recommended.

Dnt even look at this lip balm sreeparna. The kama Ayurveda rose lip balm is way better even though it is on the expensive side.
