My Experience with Oriflame Essentials Cold Cream

Packaging-

This cream comes in a white plastic tub with a light blue screw lid. Cold creams are often packed in tubs so there is nothing new in the packaging. Though tub packaging prevents product wastage, still tub packaging is not a favorite of mine. The product inside a tub is exposed to external contaminants more than tube packaging. However, Oriflame has provided a metallic foil to secure the cream inside the tub. The packaging is quite simple and strongly built but with minimal decorative graphic arts.

Colour & Texture-

The cream is pure white in color. The consistency is medium and very creamy. Being a cold cream, the texture is on the heavy side. It can give annoying sticky feeling if used in excess. The cream says it is for ‘all skin types’ but the consistency is better suited to dry to the severely dry skin.

Fragrance-

The cream has light lily and aloe scent. The fragrance is not very long staying. It just lingers for 15-20 minutes and then loses strength. My mom is not a big fan of the fragrance but this bearable smell never gave her uncomfortable feeling.

Experience-

My mom has replaced her regular moisturizer with this cold cream. That means her current skin care routine involved cleansing, toning and finally this cold cream. Consistency wise this cream is comparable to other budget-friendly cold creams like Ponds. It spreads easily and provides sufficient nourishment to the skin. The after effect is moisturized skin with no dryness. The result is almost identical to the Pond’s cream. In fact, there is no need to shift to this cream as there already are more economic cold creams available in the Indian market providing similar results. This cream, like the gazillions of widely available cold creams, contains pore-clogging fatty acids. So, this cream is not at all suitable for oily skin with pimple problem.

Oriflame Essentials Cold Cream Review 4

Pros-
  1. Thick winter-friendly formula
  2. Nourishes the skin well
  3. Gets rid of dryness
  4. Nice option for dry to extra dry skin
Cons-
  1. Does nothing extraordinary than other cold creams
  2. Cost is higher than some of the popular cold creams
  3. Contains pore-clogging ingredients so not suitable for oily skin
  4. Can aggravate acne problem
  5. May give sticky feeling
  6. Packaging is not very hygienic
Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

Oriflame Essentials Cold Cream is just a standard moisturizing cold cream that works same as any budget-friendly cold cream. So, my mom is not going to buy another tub of this. I would suggest this to winter cream to someone with very dry skin if the product is at a good discount.

Rating-2.5/5
