My Experience with NYX Vintage Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

Packaging-

This NYX liquid suede cream lipstick comes in a chubby tube corresponding to the shade that it contains. It has information written all over it in white and the cap is shiny black. The wand is long enough for easy application and the flat sponge applicator ensures that the lipstick is applied with precision. The entire packaging gives it an expensive look.

Texture-

The liquid lipstick is very creamy and feels buttery on the lips. It is extremely lightweight and you would not even feel that you have put it on your lips. This lipstick claims to be matte but it takes some time to settle down as a proper matte. The texture is so good that it simply glides on the lips.

Staying Power-

It doesn’t stay for too long on the lips; it has a decent staying power. It does fade a little after drinking or eating. It leaves lipstick marks on cups and glasses too. You always need to retouch your lips with this particular liquid lipstick to ensure that your lips don’t look patchy.

Shade-

This shade as it appears in the tube is not that bad. After swatching it on the hands you will notice that it is a brownish maroon shade. For some people, it can also be their MLBB (my lips but better) shade. It is highly pigmented but while applying it on the lips, it does appear a little streaky.

Fragrance-

It does have a pleasant negligent fragrance, not very evident.

Overall Performance

It is a very good matte liquid lipstick. The shade is beautiful and can act as a nude for some Indian skin tones. The application is buttery soft and smooth. It feels extremely lightweight on the lips and you wouldn’t even come to know that you have a lipstick on. It is waterproof too. One major problem with this lipstick is that it takes a very long time to turn into the matte finish. It remains glossy and even with one touch of your hand near your lip area, and the lipstick will end up smudging. So, apply it 10 minutes before stepping out of the house. The application of lipstick on hand is highly pigmented, but when you actually apply it onto your lips, it turns out to be streaky and patchy and you have to constantly apply multiple coats to get an opaque lip color. If your lips are highly pigmented, then there are chances that your actual lip color might peep through the liquid lipstick. Overall, I loved this product as I don’t mind reapplying the lipstick from time to time.

4. The applicator and the wand help in the precise application of the lipstick
5. Could be a perfect MLBB shade for few people

What don’t I like about this product?

1. Expensive for a 4 ml product
2. Isn’t highly pigmented
3. Requires multiple application for an opaque finish
4. Doesn’t turn matte immediately
5. Does fade a little while eating oily food or drinking

Would I recommend or repurchase this product?

Yes, Kinda! It totally depends on your choice as I do not mind retouching my lipstick and therefore I would recommend this lipstick. Overall the shade is really versatile and it feels comfortable on the lips. The brand is well known too. For quickly turning any liquid lipstick into matte I use some loose powder and tap it onto my lips to quickly achieve the matte finish, you may too try this trick. So, do give this product a try, swatch it at the nearest Sephora.
