Nykaa SKINgenius Compact :A good quality pressed powder is a must have for everyone. Pressed powders are great for makeup setting or bringing evenness to the skin. This beauty item can also make you look presentable in a few seconds only by relieving you from annoying shiny face due to excess oil secretion. I can live without foundations, blushes and other base makeup products but it will be extremely difficult for me to live without a compact at hand. Previously I liked low coverage face powders over my BB creams but these days I have become super lazy and naturally my choice is inclining towards pressed powders with better coverage so that I can skip tinted creams. Nykaa has been launching lots of makeup products recently and I got Nykaa SKINgenius Compact in Rose Beige shade. Here is my view of this product.
Price- Rs.525 for 9gm
My Experience with Nykaa SKINgenius Compact Rose Beige
Packaging- This compact comes in a matte black packaging with two compartments and a mirror attached to the lid. There is a separate area to store the applicator sponge which I like a lot. The airy compartment for applicator prevents contamination of the product; that means less chances of acne! There is a red coloured outer packaging too to cover the compact. The outer pack holds the informative details regarding the product. Overall it’s a nice and sturdy packaging; something that fits in everywhere.
Shade- This compact comes in 5 different shades. The shade range is quite wide; everyone is likely to find a matching shade. My shade Rose Beige is the second lightest shade after Natural Ivory. My shade is followed by Warm Honey, Cosy Chestnut and Toasty Tan. My shade is a true beige shade with warm-neutral undertones. This one is a perfect match to my original skin tone so the blending process becomes fuss-free. But, I can tell you one thing about this compact range; even if you buy one shade lighter or darker powder by mistake you can still blend it to your skin tone. Now that’s a plus point!
Coverage- This compact’s coverage is somewhere between low and medium. The coverage is of course better than Maybelline’s White Superfresh and Lakme’s Perfect Radiance but it would not cover acne marks or anything. It will give evenness to the skin.
Texture & Staying Power- The texture is very smooth and not too powdery. There is a subtle creaminess to the compact for which the blending power is so good with it. It does not oxidize fast and keeps face oil-free but moisturized for 3-4 hours. It does not cake up at the time of touch-up as well. Such a product can be used by every skin type girls.
Fragrance- This is a fragrance-free product.
Experience- Since this compact has better coverage I sometimes use it directly over my moisturizer. If used alone, it does not cover up my acne marks but gives a brighter and even complexion. With foundation or BB cream underneath the coverage is automatically increased. As a setting powder it works really well. It sets up concealers nicely without caking them up under the eyes. Its formula is very light; I can’t even feel something is there on my face. Another nice thing is that, it does not irritate my pimples or blocks pores to cause an outbreak of new zits. It is best to apply this compact with the given sponge applicator or a makeup sponge to get the optimal coverage.
