Non Sticky Hair Oil by Hair & Care | Is it Worth a Try?

by Sreeparna Ganguly

As I am trying to grow out my hair for 2-3 years now, the ends of my hair have become dry. On top of that, I had to use heat tools in the past few months for quite a number of times. It has become extremely essential to put some extra effort to restore my hair to its original texture. I generally prefer herbal hair oils with a heavy natural oil base (like amla oil, sesame oil, coconut oil etc.). Natural oils are often very sticky and they tend to weigh down the hair sometimes. That is the reason I keep a store-bought light hair oil like Non Sticky Hair Oil by Hair & Care. I have tried all the variants of Hair & Care oil and my today’s review is the original variant which is the oldest one from Hair & Care.

My Experience with Non Sticky Hair Oil by Hair & Care

Packaging- This hair oil comes in a see-through plastic bottle. The bottle has green as its theme color. The oil bottle has a flip-open system for pouring out the product. It has a unique ergonomic shape for user convenience. The back of the pack is kept for all the informative details. The brand has revealed complete ingredient list which is useful to know about the product in depth.

Colour & Texture- The oil looks light green in the bottle but on hand, it looks colorless and transparent. The brand claims it to be a non-sticky oil and it actually is a non-greasy oil. Its consistency is almost like a dry oil. The main constituent of this oil is mineral oil and the rest is vegetable oil. Naturally, it performs like a serum more than a nourishing oil.

Fragrance- This oil has light herbal fragrance. The smell is not overpowering and reminds me of lush greenery. The staying power of this oil is not very considerate. I do not like my hair oils to smell strong as it induces a headache. Thankfully this oil does not fall into this category!

Experience- This is a standard variant of hair oil from Hair & Care. Like any other mineral oil based hair care product, this one also has a weightless texture which we often see on dry oils or oil based hair serums. I generally use this as my pre-shampoo oil but I have also used it post-shampoo as a replacement for my leave-in hair serum. This is a moderately moisturizing hair oil. Vegetable oil works for my hair and that is why this oil is able to take care of my frizziness problem to some extent. Being a lightweight product it does not cause product build up to my scalp. But, the smoothening effect and softened texture I get from this oil stay only for 1-2 days.

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

Hair & Care Non-sticky Hair Oil is a light non-sticky hair oil in a mineral oil base. It is a standard hair oil that provides instant nourishment and softness but does not have considerable long-term benefits. I would not be buying this one since I like its fruit oils variant with Orange and Anaar. If you want to replace your everyday hair serum with something nourishing, you might find it useful but I would not suggest this as a hair conditioning oil for dry hair.
