My experience with Maybelline Red Rush, Plum Tastic and Violet Vibe
I have been using these lipsticks for over a year now. And I have been using three shades from this range.
Red Rush (211):
Out of all the three shades, this one is my favorite. I love reds. This shade, in particular, is a very nice red. It’s not bright but again it’s not very dark or maroon either. It’s tomato red shade and the texture of the product is indeed creamy, and this would be an ideal product for a matte lipstick lover.
But for girls who like creamily textured lipsticks, you can definitely try this one out. Also, this lipstick keeps my lips moisturized and doesn’t dry them up. It has a sweet fruity fragrance to it. This shade would be my ideal pick for the day as well night scenes because reds look good with everything. 😀
Plum Tastic (402):
Don’t judge this lipstick by its name, the name says plum and we all think it might be a berry or purple shade but it’s not! It’s a subtle and soft pink shade. A very vibrant and light color, it has a glossy finish and a shiny texture.
This is suitable for people with dry lips as the creamy nature of the product will keep your lips nourished. This would be my ideal pick for day/evening scenes. For girls who love pink shades and want to make it light and simple shade then this one is for you. It’s definitely worth trying.
Violet Vibe (408):
This shade is an actual berry shade, but it’s not a deep berry shade it’s more on the lighter side. I am not really a fan of purple or berry shade lipsticks but if you are one of them and want a good creamy lipstick within Rs.300/- then this is the one for you. You can team this lipstick with your traditional outfits. It’s a rich shade which smooth texture and doesn’t make your lips feel heavy, just like the other two lipsticks it too has a fruity/pleasant fragrance to it.
Overall these lipsticks are good in color and texture and have a glossy shine. But however, they are not an ideal product for matte lipstick lovers like me. Also, the lipsticks don’t last long and it does stain. Contrary to the brands claim these lipsticks do smudge a little and might need reapplication. So for me, these lipsticks have been pretty average.
- Rich colors
- Good pigmentation
- Suitable for people with dry lips
- Reasonably priced
- Ideal for people who like creamily textured lipsticks
- Lipsticks smudge a little
- The color stains
- Doesn’t last long, needs reapplication
- Not an ideal product for people who like matte lipsticks.
Overall Would I repurchase and recommend?
Yes, I would recommend it to those who like their lipsticks to be creamy and smooth. But for girls who like matte lipsticks then this won’t be an ideal pick for them. However, the price is reasonable so anyone can try it once.
