My Experience with Maybelline Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint 06 Vamp Red

Packaging-

This lip color comes in a tiny squeeze tube with a velvet matte screw lid on top of it. The body of the tube has been color coordinated to the lip color’s shade. The tube is quite unique for this kind of lip colors; it is similar to lip gloss packaging. The dispensing system for the lip tint is unique too. It has a slanted felt tip applicator for the convenience of the user. The tip works as a great substitute for a lip brush. Overall the packaging has lots of new things to talk about and its teeny tiny appearance is an eye candy for sure!

Shade & Pigmentation-

Vamp Red is a neutral red shade inclining towards berry. The shade is super intense; a perfect berry red for the autumn-winter. The tint is perfectly true to its name! The lip paint is very pigmented. Just a tiny product is able to provide opaque coverage to my lips. The shade will surely show up on even the most pigmented lips.

Texture-

This lip paint has very similar texture to matte lip creams. It is a thick cream with rich pigments. The only difference between this lip paint and NYX’s Lip Lingerie is, this one does not settle into the hard matte finish and the NYX one does. Once you apply the lip paint on the lips, the cream part gets absorbed within a few minutes. You are left with comfortable semi-matte tint on the lips without any stretchy feeling.

Fragrance-

This is a fragrance-free product but there is just a little whiff of citrus in it. The citrus note is almost indistinguishable.

Experience-

The shade Vamp Red is seriously vampy. I am not into such dark shades in particular. But after wearing it for a couple of time, I became confident enough to carry it. This kind of lip color works across skin tone and it pictures really well. We Indians have distinctive yellow undertones to our skin and this shade of red complements our skin tone. This lip paint attracts the attention so I like to keep the rest of my face very neutral. A classical winged eyeliner look fits perfectly with this it. Coming to the performance, this one not only has good color pay-off but it also gives very light finish to the lips. I can’t feel anything on my lips after 30 minutes or so. It does not accentuate the fines lines of the lips. It does not bleed as well. It stays on for at least 6 hours. It transfers a little but surprisingly survives meals with a little fading. Once you purse your lips, the shade becomes even again.

I am in love with this new Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint 06 Vamp Red by Maybelline for its superb pigmentation, amazing staying power and comfortable formula. So, I will definitely buy it again. I am planning to explore the other shades from this range as well. I will recommend this lip color to every red lip lover!
