My Experience with the Maybelline Baby Lips Cotton Candy Lip Balm
Packaging
This lip balm has a screw-up mechanism. So when using it, you simply need to remove the lid and rotate the bottom portion of the plastic stick to get the product out. The color of the lip balm, like all other Maybelline lip balms, is color-coded with the flavor. As this one is named cotton candy, the lid and bottom of the tube are pink and the middle is a greyish white. It comes packed in a cardboard and plastic flap cover.
Shade
The Cotton Candy shade is a very pretty sheer pink. It has a sheer glossy finish to it. The shade makes the lips look naturally bright pink!
Pigmentation
It isn’t highly pigmented which is why you need to apply at least 2 swipes to get the color to pop out. It doesn’t cover lip pigmentation to a great extent. But it looks good on everyone due to its natural finish.
Texture
The Cotton Candy lip balm has a smooth texture. It easily glides over the lips which is why it feels very comfortable to wear it. The moisturizing power is good.
Fragrance
This lip balm has a wonderful strawberry-ish fragrance. Much like a real cotton candy. Also, it’s sweet to taste if you accidentally lick your lips and you taste some of it!
Staying Power
Its tall claim of 16-hour moisture isn’t true. But it does stay for approximately 5-6 hours. Even after it wears off, the lips remain soft for another 2-3 hours before you need to reapply!
