Lips have different skin texture than the rest of our face. Here we don’t have oil glands. That means lips cannot keep themselves moisturized on their own; they need to be nourished externally though moisturizing lip jellies, balms etc. I have got very dry lips so lip balms are more of a necessity to me. Maybelline’s Baby Lips range is my favorite lip balm range so my collection of lip balm includes lots of Baby Lips. I have tried many other tinted lip balms under Rs.200 but I have to come back to Baby Lips every time. Today I am reviewing the shade Pink Alert from Maybelline’s Bright Out Loud! series of Baby Lips. Bright Out Loud includes some of the intensely pigmented Baby Lips I have ever tried. So, let’s check out Pink Alert is one of them or not!

My Experience with Maybelline Baby Lips Bright Out Loud! Pink Alert
Packaging- This lip balm comes in a twist up the sleek cylindrical bullet. This one has different packaging than the other Baby Lips. Its bullet looks almost like a lipstick. The balm bullet is slender and contains less product than the regular Baby Lips (almost half in amount). However, the packaging is really a chic one with vibrant pink color and green writings on it.
Shade, Pigmentation & Texture- The shade Pink Alert is a bubbly pink shade, you can call it warm toned fuchsia. The tint of the balm is good for everyday purpose and the color pay-off is satisfactory. The pigmentation is slightly lesser than this range’s other pink/violet shade Beaming violet. The finish is very glossy; it reminds me of lightly tinted lip glosses. It gives translucent coverage to my lips but would not give this much coverage on darker lips than mine. The texture of this lip balm is non-greasy. It moisturizing property is again lesser than regular Baby Lips so I need to reapply every 2-3 hours in the cold season.
Fragrance- This lip balm has fresh peppermint fragrance. The smell is not overpowering and it gives a very energizing feeling. I just love the fragrance!
Experience- Among all the pink genre lip colors, warm fuchsia shades are my favorites because I feel they complement Indian skin tones really well. This lip balm was something I was really interested to try for this reason. Plus, the other shades from this range were quite pigmented so my expectations got set in the higher arena. Now, this lip balm gave me the same feel as the Beaming Violet shade from this range. There is the same amount of nourishment, same fragrance, and same tingling sensation. The difference is in the tint. I feel the pigmentation could have been better since the Beaming Violet was better than this pigmentation wise. This shade blends itself into my original lip color and gives me a naturally flushed lip look. It is more of a day-to-day color that will stay on your lips 3-4 hours.

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?
Maybelline Baby Lips Bright Out Loud! Pink Alert is a warm pink lip balm with the non-sticky glossy finish. The new Baby Lips Candy Rush range has a similar shade to this with a better color pay-off and that one has more product in the bullet. So, I will certainly buy that instead of Pink Alert!
