How to Make Lips Pink: Soft pink pouty lips are every girl’s dream but sadly various internal and external factors like lifestyle, habits, skin care faults, environmental exposure often causes darkened lips. Here are some of my tried and tested lip care ideas that helped my patchy dark lips to transform into pink and baby soft.

How to Make Lips Pink

# Keep the Moisture Intact All the Time

Our lips do not have oil glands like the rest of the face so it can’t stay moisturized unless we moisturize it externally. That is why lips get dry pretty fast and dryness causes chapped dark lips. To avoid dull pale lips due to moistureless ness moisture lips at regular intervals and also apply a thick layer of overnight lip treatment to keep your lips moisturized when you are asleep.

# Regularly Exfoliate but Never Over-exfoliate

Exfoliating is a useful way to get rid of the dead cells accumulated on the outermost layer of lip skin but often granular lip defoliators to cause extra friction on the soft skin of the lips. As a result, the fresh living cells get micro-tears and the lips become more and more darkened. Always use light pressure when scrubbing the lips with sugar or coffee scrubs. Do not use a toothbrush as lip exfoliator frequently.

# Hydrate the Full Body Not Just the Lips

When the internal system of your body is provided with enough hydration, the lips automatically stay hydrated and chap less. So make it a habit to drink 8-10 glasses of water every day.

# Indulge into Stress Busting Exercises & Quit Smoking

Stress, anxiety, and habit of smoking take the toll on your body and its immediate result shows through the pigmentation of your lips. To get pink lips, the first change you need to make is quitting smoking habits. To reduce the level of stress various stress-busting activities and relaxation techniques o0ften come in handy.

# Never Use Lip Products with Unknown Ingredients

Many of us can’t control ourselves from the lure of cheap thrills when it comes to makeup especially the lip makeup. But it is dangerous to use generic dupe of famous lip products as they do not enlist their ingredient detail and do not come under the tag of any specific brand. It is wise to steer clear of these lip makeup items as it may cause hyperpigmentation or other serious ailments to the lips.

# Apply Homemade Lip Pack with Honey, Aloe & Licorice

Honey and licorice are known for their skin lightening properties. Incorporating them into your lip routine will reduce the pigmentation of the lips. Take ½ teaspoon honey and mix it with ½ teaspoon freshly extracted aloe vera juice. Now add 2-3 pinches of licorice root powder to it and apply to the lips for 15-20 minutes. Just rub off afterward and apply a little butter to the lips to lock in the moisture.

# Remember to Remove Lip Makeup

Lip makeup items are extremely pigmented and the pigmentation is created by several chemicals. Too much exposure to such chemicals can cause darkening and dryness of lips. So, it is best to remove lip makeup with gentle makeup removers or food grade natural oils.

# Identify the Internal Causes & Treat Them Properly

If you are following a lip care routine regularly for a considerable amount of time and still no result is coming out of it, then the lip pigmentation might be an indicator to some internal dysfunctions or chronic disorders.
