Who is it for? MAC Verve Lipstick is a mauve shade of brown that has a satin finish. Also for those looking for a shade that suits all skin tones.
My experience with the MAC Verve Lipstick
The bullet comes in the typical black packaging with the silver detailing and brand name over it. It has the name of the shade written at the bottom, like all over MAC lipsticks.
Verve is a warm brown with hints of plum. It’s a lovely shade for those who lean towards browns and will skin all skin tones. So that’s a big plus. However though, I do feel that the shade is more suitable for older women…for the younger girls, I’d suggest something more fun and playful.
It is of a creamy texture and glides on pretty well.
Most of the time, I’ve been very happy with the pigmentation of MAC lipsticks. And this time too!! The pigmentation is really good, one swipe is enough. But if you had pigmented lips and want full coverage, a few swipes and you’re sorted.
Since this is from the Satin range, it’s a really nice finish. Not too matte, not too glossy….just the right amount of in between! Also, it doesn’t get patchy or settle into fine lines.
One swipe of Verve doesn’t last for too long. It fades off during meals…so will need a touch up in between.
It’s not very highly priced, but it’s not reasonable either. It won’t suit everyone’s budget.
Like all MAC lipstick, this one too has a vanilla fragrance that is not very strong.
What do I like?
- Suits all skin tones
- Good packaging
- Nice texture
- Vanilla fragrance
- Strongly pigmented
- Right finish
What do I not like about it?
- Makes you look older
- Weak staying power
Would I repurchase & recommend?
I wouldn’t repurchase this shade for myself…only because I’m not so much of a brown person. But, if you tend to lean towards that shade, then Verve is a good option.
