MAC Romp Eyeshadow Review

Who is it for? MAC Romp Eyeshadow Is for those looking for a warm brown with a metallic and antique gold hint to it.

MAC Romp

Price

INR 990

My experience with the MAC Romp

Packaging

Like all refill eyeshadows, this one too comes in around the magnetic pan. The base of the pan has the shade name and basic details mentioned on it. Nothing great about the packaging, it’s the usual.

Texture

The texture of Romp is just how I like my eyeshadows to be, buttery. It’s so soft and smooth…you can barely tell that there’s any product.

Application

Due to its buttery texture, application of the eyeshadow is very smooth. It glides on very easily.

Shade

So like I mentioned above, it’s supposed to be a warm brown with a frost. But, in my opinion, it’s more of a subdued gold than a brown. It will work very well for those looking for just a light wash of gold across the lids.

Suitability

Romp will suit all skin tones and that’s great. However, on darker skin tones it won’t show too well unless it is layered up.

Pigmentation

So this is one thing I was not very impressed with. Now I know the shade is supposed to be very subtle and all…and it looks really nice, but I do wish it was a little more pigmented.

Affordability

So not everyone will be open to spending INR 990 for a refill eyeshadow. It will work for those you have a higher budget. But I think, the brand could work on the pricing of their products, in general.

Staying Power

Even without a primer, the eyeshadow will stay on for about 6-7 hours without any creasing.

What do I like?
  1. Butter like texture
  2. Subtle shade
  3. Easy application
  4. Staying Power
  5. Suits all skin tones
What do I not like?
  1. Pricing
  2. Pigmentation
Would I repurchase & recommend?

So very honestly, I would repurchase this. But I have my reasons. It’s a very pretty shade and all, but the pigmentation is not as strong as I like it to be. The pricing of MAC products are very high and it doesn’t always suit my budget. BUT….if you have the budget and you’re looking for a subtle gold, go for it.
