L’Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Repairing Masque Review

I am growing out my naturally wavy-curly hair for some years now. When you have such a hair type, maintaining long hair is a nightmare sometimes. Whenever the humidity is high, my hair goes on its own path to capture the moisture from the air and the neat result is tremendous frizziness! The best way to bring some rules in this unruliness is to provide an uninterrupted supply of moisture through deep conditioning treatments at regular intervals. Hair spa treatments come handy at such crisis but they are also very expensive because of my hair’s current length. So, recently I invested on L’Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Repairing Masque which is a deep conditioner designed to repair 70% of the damaged hair. Read on to find how if it works or not.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Repairing Masque

Packaging- This hair mask comes in a white plastic tub with a red screw lid. The packaging is color coded exactly similar ways as of other ‘Total Repair 5’ series products. The body of the tub has all the necessary details mentioned in a lucid manner. There has been no spillage or leakage of any sort from the packaging. It’s a nice sturdy packaging. I have arranged for a plastic spatula to take out the cream because dipping your finger in it may contaminate it.

Colour & Texture- The color of this spa cream is white and its consistency is dense and creamy. It is a deep conditioner and its texture is thicker than normal conditioners for dry hair. It is a non-drip hair cream. It gets spread easily on damp hair.

Fragrance- The fragrance of this product is floral and again the smell is exactly same as ‘Total Repair 5’ shampoo and conditioner. The smell does not feel heavy and its major part goes off after washing the hair off the cream. It makes the foul sweaty smell disappear for good!

Experience- I have been doing at-home hair spa with this repairing mask one in a fortnight. After two uses I can tell this product works. From the first use, it tamed down a lot of frizziness without weighing down my hair. I mix a little bit of hair serum from the same range with this cream to make a thick paste and apply it to my washed damp hair. This little trick does the magic to give salon-like effect to my hair. I wrap my head with a plastic bag and let the product do its work for 30-45 minutes. After that, I rinse my hair thoroughly to remove all the excess conditioner from the hair. It is of utmost importance to get rid of the excess product completely or the hair will become greasy and limp in a day. I finish my hair care with a few drops of hair serum from the same range.

This hair spa cream supplies my hair with moisture and the hair looks healthy. It helps to define my natural curls and that is how the frizziness reduces. On my first use, I washed my hair with a mild shampoo for dry hair and the result was satisfactory. On my second use, I used a clarifying shampoo beforehand (inspired by Sone’s tips) and the result was much better than the first time! My hair was silky smooth and tangles were less. I got almost salon like the finish on my hair!

The tub mentions it is for damaged hair. The formula works well for my dry hair. It may work on other hair types with quantity adjustments.

After applying it do we require to wash it with shampoo?

No. Just wash off with plain water. This mask is like a conditioner but in a thick form.
Hope it helps 🙂
