Lakme Sun Expert Compact Review- New and Amazing ?

Applying sunscreen is extremely important that we all know. But the effectiveness or sun protection provided by a particular sunscreen depends greatly on the way it is being used. Whatever may be the SPF or PA rating of the sunscreen, it requires reapplication after the effectiveness period. Otherwise, it is of no use. Generally, we apply sunscreen creams or lotion just before putting on the base makeup.  That is why it becomes impossible to reapply my sunscreen as I should. For a single reapplication, I would have to undo all my makeup and then do it again. This troublesome business can be settled for once and all if the sunscreen comes in powder form. I think Lakme has understood this issue as they have recently launched Lakme Sun Expert Compact. Here are my thoughts about this super affordable newbee sunscreen compact.

My Experience with Lakme  Compact Sun Expert

Packaging- This compact comes in a yellow plastic click-open pan. The packaging has a standard size mirror attached to the flexible lid. The compact pan comes in a same color cardboard outer-box. The packaging is very similar to the Lakme’s Perfect Radiance compact. The necessary details are mentioned in the back of the pan as well as in the outer box. The ingredient list is missing though. It comes with a good quality soft white applicator. The applicator has a cute emblem of the sun. Overall, the packaging is awesome!

Shade, Texture & Coverage- Lakme compacts are generally available in wide shade ranges but this one comes in only one shade. The shade is suitable for light to medium complexions perfectly. The coverage is on the lower side so the dusky beauties would be able to use it. But, I don’t think it would be suitable for darker skin tones. Texture wise it is a mattifying compact. It does not leave white cast behind.

Staying Power- For my combination skin, the stay time is 3-4 hours in a sweaty humid summer day. If I am staying inside a car or in the shade, the stay time increases to 5 hours. Then the T-zone starts to get shiny.

 Fragrance- This compact has a light floral fragrance. The smell is completely different from the other compacts from this brand. The fragrance does not linger long after application.

Experience- This sunscreen comes with SPF of 40 and PA of +++. Strength wise its sun shielding capability is remarkable for the price it comes for. I have used Lakme’s Perfect Radiance compact, Radiance Complexion compact from the affordable range and Primer + Matte Powder Foundation. This particular compact felt quite similar to the Perfect Radiance compact. Just one dab of this compact is enough to set the base makeup. It is certainly not creamy compact like the Primer + Matte but feels comfortable on the skin. Its low coverage makes it a good everyday compact. It is able to set my moisturizer, BB or CC cream perfectly. I think it is a good option for oily to combination skin. Dry skin beauties have to apply a hydrating moisturizer underneath. It does not cover the marks and blemishes. I cannot count it as a con because not a single compact from my collection under Rs.800 could cover my acne marks. I like using this product as it gives an instant radiant look on my face.

8. Evens out the complexion
9. Works for every skin type
10. Super affordable

Cons-

1. Comes in only one shade; would not be suitable for darker skin tones

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

Lakme Sun Expert SPF40 PA+++ Ultra Matte Compact is great compact or setting powder with high UVA and UVB protection. It gives low to medium coverage and is able to set day-to-day makeup quite well. Considering the price point, its performance is praiseworthy. I am definitely buying it again and I would suggest this to everyone.
