Lakme CC Color Transform Cream Review: Among all the affordable BB/CC creams, the Lakme CC cream is always my first preference because only this one comes in a variety of shades. I don’t have to do anything to balance the shade mismatch with the Lakme CC cream. This time I got Lakme’s newer version of CC cream with color changing the formula. I haven’t tried any makeup item with color transform technology so this one will be my first. From the good performance of Lakme’s old CC cream, I have high expectation from this new CC cream. Let’s see if this Lakme CC Color Transform Cream can keep up to the claims or not.

My Experience with Lakme CC Color Transform Cream

Packaging- This CC cream comes in a rose gold tube; rose gold is the theme color for the 9 to 5 range I think. The tube is packed in a shiny pink outer box. This box mentions all the claims, usage directions and most importantly the ingredient list. Lakme generally skips on the ingredient list but I am happy to see the detailed ingredient listing on the packaging. The packaging is a study one; it is something that you can easily travel with.

Shade- This version of CC cream has only two variants in its shade range; Beige (lighter) and Bronze (Darker). Since the product adapts to one’s skin color, two shades are sufficient for the majority of Indian complexions.  I am in the shade Beige. My shade has yellow undertones to it. This shade will be perfect for lighter to medium complexions.

Coverage- This CC cream has low-medium coverage. Its performance is comparable to Lakme’s old CC cream and Pond’s BB cream. It gives a smooth evenness to the skin but it falls short to hide acne marks or under eye darkness.

Texture- This color changing product is a white colored cream in which lots of tiny dark colored particles are present. These particles are the pigments are the reason behind the pigmentation shown by the CC cream. As you rub the cream into your skin, these tiny granules get ground and the tint sets in. Once you have blended the cream to the skin completely all the granules will get mixed to the CC cream and the final finish will be smooth.

Fragrance- This cream has a floral fragrance to it. The old CC cream has a citrus-y fragrance. The smell is light and stays for about 45 minutes or so.

Staying Power- I have oily combination skin, so I always set base makeup with pressed powder. This cream stays on my skin for 5-6 hours in a ‘not-much-sweaty’ day. On the humid days, the staying power becomes 4-5 hours.

Experience- This CC cream is a substitute of an everyday purpose tinted moisturizer for me. It gives a natural-looking matte finish. The skin looks healthy and the pimple marks look blurred to some extent. The color transform technology does its job to make the tint of the product suitable for my original complexion. For my dark under eye circles, I still need a concealer. It provides a comfortable matte finish that stays for a considerable time. It contains sun protection factor of 30 with PA ++. But, still, I miss that instant brightening factor in it that the older version used to provide. This one is pricier than the older version but the performance of both the products are comparable. So, why would I spend those extra bucks if I am to get similar results?

Overall Performance of Lakme CC Color Transform Cream

Pros-

1. Lightweight CC cream that adapts to your skin’s own tone
2. Gives comfortable matte finish
3. Staying power is good
4. Blendable formula
5. Evens out the complexion
6. Does not dry out my skin or cause new pimples

Cons-

1. Pricier than old CC cream but gives similar result
2. Lacks instant skin brightening effect

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

I am not going to buy this Color Transform Cream because Lakme’s older CC cream was better priced and gave me better results than this. I will go back to that one. For the same reason, I will not suggest this in particular. Lakme’s old CC cream had narrow shade range before so there weren’t enough shades to match every skin tone. But, now there are 4 shades so it is better to opt for the original CC cream instead of this one.
