Who is it for? Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation is for women looking for a medium coverage, easy to blend foundation with SPF. It is not for the matte foundation lovers or for the ones who have prominent skin imperfections like dark/ acne spots, open pores etc.

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation:

Packaging:

The packaging is different yet classy. It comes in a glass bottle with the golden background to it. The bottle has a gold and black dropper which can be screwed open/ close.

Texture:

As it has oil serum in it, it has a think consistency, which makes application and blending easier. There are 6 different shades to choose from.

Fragrance:

The fragrance is not overpowering. It resembles the fragrance of  Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Radiance Overnight Oil-in-Serum.

Performance:

I bought the shade honeydew for myself. Honestly, I am not a big fan of the dropper as it makes the usage a little clumsy and messy. I prefer a foundation with pumps. Anyway, the foundation is not like a cream or soufflé but is actually thin. I wouldn’t call it runny as such but the application is actually very easy. I used a sponge to apply it and it blended smoothly over the skin. The foundation settles into a glowy finish which people may confuse as being oily. But this doesn’t mean that it is not oily. I have a combination skin and I prefer a foundation that doesn’t enhance the oil secretion after a while, which is exactly what happened with this foundation.

Now this provides a medium coverage and I have an acne problem. Therefore, there are a few dark acne marks which this foundation could not cover well. Neither did it hide my open pores and fine line. I believe applying a primer is advisable before this foundation.

This doesn’t mean that this foundation is bad, it is just that it did not work for my skin type, i.e., combination and blemished. I feel this is a good option for girls who do not have major skin issues and are looking for a foundation for an even skin tone. This would be a good for them as it is easy to apply and also has SPF 45.

What do I like?
  • Lightweight.
  • Dewy/ glowy finish.
  • Blends easily.
  • Dropper makes it hygienic.
  • Contains SPF 45.
  • Shades available that suit Indian skin tones.
  • Ideal for daily use to provide even skin tone.
What did I not like?
  • Can make skin appear oily if the skin is combination or oily.
  • Not for matte foundation lovers.
  • Quantity is less.
  • Doesn’t hide prominent spots and dark acne marks.
  • Doesn’t cover open pores.
Would I recommend or repurchase?

I would recommend it to girls with clear skin or minor skin imperfections. However, it did not work well for me so I wouldn’t repurchase it.

When a brand comes up with such expensive base makeup products we expect it to have good coverage at least… Sadly it could not provide that 🙁
Loved your honest opinion…
