My Experience with Kylie Birthday Edition August Bug

PACKAGING

Kylie Cosmetics Liquid lipstick comes in a color-coded matte tube packaging which has dropping liquids affect from the top. The applicator is doe- foot type which makes it easy in application.

SHADE

August Bug from Kylie’s birthday month collection is a vibrant violet shade which makes my lips poppy and so different from my regular basic lip shade. This kind of purple shade has not been in my closet because I don’t wear such bright colors.

TEXTURE AND PIGMENTATION

The August Bug shade is from the matte liquid lipstick collection. The other collection is their velvet liquid lipstick.

So, the texture is liquidity at first while application but after some seconds it dries out in a matte finish. It takes no time in drying. If you are applying to upper lips and then lower lips, the upper lips would get dry while application only.

Talking about the pigmentation, these are so pigmented and a good color pay off is visible on one swipe only.

STAYING POWER

This shade has a matte and opaque finish. Thus, it stays for a long time but if you are having oily meals like dosa, the lipstick will fade from the middle portion.

MY EXPERIENCE

To be honest I am not a big fan of this lip color. Personally, I don’t wear such bright colors. I would probably wear this shade with a mix of some neutrals to make it look less bright.

What don’t I like?

• Limited Edition
• Not an everyday wearable shade

Would I Repurchase/Recommend?

Yes, I would definitely recommend this beautiful shade to people who are looking for fun lip shades different from regular ones.

I would not really repurchase this because I don’t wear vibrant shades, for some events to look different in the crowd, this shade will work 😉
