My Experience with Johnson’s Baby Shampoo
This shampoo comes in a see-through bottle with a flip-top cap. It is available in various sizes. Recently the packaging and the formula have been revised. The new formula is harmful chemical free.
Colour & Texture
It is a runny liquid of light yellow color. When mixed with water, it creates a moderate amount moisturizing lather. It does not leave sticky residue behind but does not make the skin dry as well.
It has a faint floral fragrance. The fragrance fades off very soon. The fragrance will not irritate the sensitive sensory system of the babies.
I read somewhere that baby shampoos make great makeup brush cleansers. That is the reason I went for this cleanser in spite of being a mature adult. Well, the truth is, I tried it for my hair but I needed too much product and the after effect was not very satisfactory as my scalp was quite oily before washing. I must admit, its moisturizing property shows full on the result when I am washing my makeup sponges and brushes with it. It cleanses all makeup residues without drying them out. I haven’t experienced any noticeable feather shedding in my brushes. I sometimes use it as my shave gel for the legs. It also works well as my body wash. I also make a DIY body scrub with this cleanser, some oil and salt or sugar.

- Does not degrade the beauty sponges or brushes
- Can be used as body wash substitute
- An excellent replacement of expensive shave gels

What didn’t I like?
I don’t know how it will perform on the sensitive scalp of babies but as a brush cleanser, I have no complaints at all!
Would I Recommend?
I would certainly recommend this as a body wash and brush cleanser liquid. I will buy it again as my go-to cleanser for makeup brushes and sponges. It works like any good quality makeup brush cleanser but costs just a fraction. Give it a try guys!
