Himalaya Winter Defense Moisturizing Cream Review

Himalaya Winter Defense Moisturizing Cream: Winter skincare is quite a tricky task for those who have severely dry skin. The harsh winter wind is quite efficient to take off all the moisture from our skin in a jiffy. So, winter is the time we have to depend on moisturizers and skin nourishing potions. I have combination skin with frequent acne breakouts. My skin leans on the dry side in winter. Naturally, I also become the victim of flaky skin. I keep experimenting with winter creams every year and this winter’s find of mine is Himalaya Herbals Winter Defense Moisturizing Cream. This is an affordable cold cream from Himalaya that has three potent ingredients Jojoba Oil, Almond and Wheat Germ. Here are my views on this cream.

My Experience with Himalaya Winter Defense Cream

Packaging- This cream comes in a plastic tub with screw-open lid. The tub is quite colorful and cheery looking. To keep the cream mess free, the tub has a white colored plastic separator in its opening. The tub is not a hygienic way of packaging so I would have liked if the cream has a tube packaging at least. The bottom side of the cream tub has a flap where the complete ingredient list is mentioned.

Colour & Texture- This is a pure white colored cream with a dense texture. Its texture is very thick; almost nearer to the original Nivea cream’s consistency. The cream is very moisturizing. So, it fares well as cold cream. This cream is targeted towards dry to extremely dry skin and I must say it is able to provide protection to the undernourished skin in extreme winter months.

Fragrance-This cream has a floral fragrance to it. This kind of smell is quite common among winter creams. The fragrance is not at all overpowering and does not linger much.

Experience- This winter Defense cream has all the qualities of a good winter moisturizer. Its consistency is super thick, it stays on for long and gives soft and supple skin. This cream builds a protective barrier of moisture and heals dry patches and flakiness. It is able to keep the skin moisturized for at least 5-6 hours. I do not have dry or extremely dry skin so the cream leaves behind a creamy feel on my skin. I can’t consider it as a con since this cream is not particularly meant for my skin type. I would say acne prone skin must steer clear of this cream; it might worsen the acne situation. I have used this cream under makeup and it works fine in this way. It does not make the base makeup crease if that has been set with powder. This cream contains mineral oil and paraben which I do not find appealing at all!
