Happy day girls…I am back with yet another mommy product review….and this time the Himalaya Body Butter |Soothing Body Butter for Moms is under my scanner. New moms usually have skin issues what with time crunches, hormonal changes and post-delivery stress. The Himalaya for Moms range is specially formulated to suit the needs of moms. This body butter comes enriched with rose which is anyway one of my favourite fragrances. This inspired me to give this a shot….let’s see how my tryst fared.

You would obviously know this…Himalaya range of products are quite affordable. The body butters have lived up to their reputation of being a good investment and what’s more the Himalaya range is also super safe and free from chemicals.

The literature on this one reads “refreshingly spiced with zesty lime and mint” and “smooth on fresh hydration”. One sniff and you can get the refreshing fragrance of a well-made mojito.

My Experience with Himalaya Body Butter |Soothing Body Butter for Moms

The Himalaya soothing body butter comes in decent looking tubs…these aren’t exactly glamorous but the containers are white with green edges. The lettering on top and the sides of the tub speaks about the virtues of the product. The tub packaging is neither travel friendly or hygienic but is somewhat cute to look at. I plan to use the empty tub as a storage container. The body butter is white with a whipped cream like consistency…the texture isn’t thick.

When I flicked it on my hands…I got a nice cooling sensation…the fragrance of rose was also distinguishable. The butter got absorbed in a few seconds…and the skin felt soft and moisturised. The body butter is an all season product and… good for sweaty humid climate. However I required a large amount to moisturise my skin properly.

My skin has turned dry post-delivery and overall though I don’t like thick creams that take forever to be absorbed I wish that this had stronger moisturising power. On that parameter the Himalaya soothing body butter for moms scores a little less. However I loved the fragrance and the texture of the butter…it is infant skin safe and that’s an added bonus.

Overall Performance of Himalaya Body Butter |Soothing Body Butter for Moms

The USP of this body butter is its affordable cost, nice fragrance and lovely texture. That being said…this one is not really suitable for winters…use it in summers for best results. I have used it for 15 days now and have to continuously reapply it to keep my skin hydrated. I think I will repurchase this only when the humid summers really set in and use a heavier moisturiser for drier months.

Apart from these minor issues…the Himalaya soothing body butter for moms is a good buy. However I am not convinced about it being completely chemical free…the ingredient list paints a different picture.

Would I recommend?

I would definitely recommend the Himalaya soothing body butter for moms as a summer buy. It’s affordable, nice smelling and performs decently….however do a patch test before application…post pregnancy and delivery the skin is a little more sensitive. A 4/5 for this product.

I heard this body butter was not that moisturizing and your review confirmed that..
Nice work :love :rose:
I recently tried and reviewed Nivea’s aloe body cream that was quite moisturizing..
