Details about Himalaya Acne-n-Pimple Cream

What is it?

Himalaya’s Acne-n-Pimple Cream promises to treat pimples and skin eruptions. It says to heal infection without harming the soft and smooth texture of the skin. It has excellent astringent and cooling properties derived from the actives of Lentil, Silk Cotton Tree, Five-leaved Chaste Tree extracts, Barbados Aloe and Alum.

My Experience with Himalaya Acne-n-Pimple Cream

Packaging- This acne cream comes in a white opaque squeeze tube with a green screw cap. The tube resides in a cardboard outer packaging. Both the tube and the outer pack mention all the necessary details regarding the product. Even if you lose the outer packaging, you will still be able to make out the basic information like expiry date and ingredient details. In addition to the full ingredient list, the packaging also gives testimony of this products’ effectiveness by the means of chromatographic diagrams comparing the results of this cream with plain aloe vera gel. The packaging is sleek, sturdy and travel-friendly. I must say Himalaya has done a nice job in the packaging department!

Colour & Texture- The color of this cream is off-white. Though it is a ‘cream’, its texture is not very heavy. It gets absorbed very quickly and gives comfortable matte finish on my oily-combination skin in summer. But, looking at its consistency and finish it can be said that in winter this product may dry out the skin.

Fragrance- This cream has a mild herbal fragrance. The smell is quite unique and not of overpowering nature. It takes only a few minutes for the smell to vanish completely.

Experience- The performance part of this cream is a little confusing to me. Most Himalaya skin care products do what they say in my case. But, this cream is not one of them that do what they promise. This is no doubt a good moisturizer for oily skin. It has good absorbency and gives oil-free matte finish for a considerable amount of time (almost 4 hours for me). At the same time, it is equally ineffective on my pimples as a topical treatment or as a moisturizer for the whole face. It just shrinks them minimally and nothing more! This effect can easily be seen with homemade Gram flour face packs or plain Aloe Vera gel. That means, the testimonies they provided are true and it can work as a substitute of aloe vera gel to treat acne.

Though this one could not prove itself as a good acne cream, it did not irritate my skin or caused new breakouts. The feel of this cream is quite similar to Vicco Turmeric cream.

Overall Performance of Himalaya Acne-n-Pimple Cream

Pros-
  1. Mattifying moisturizer for oily skin
  2. Smells good
  3. Did not cause new pimples on my skin
  4. Budget-friendly
Cons-
  1. Not at all effective on acne
  2. Contains parabens
Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

I would buy Himalaya Acne-n-Pimple Cream again as a mattifying moisturizer for humid summer months; not as an acne treatment. I would recommend it to someone with oily skin who wants an oil-free moisturizer like Vicco Turmeric cream. It is certainly not a must-have so you would not miss anything if you decide to skip it!

Haven’t tried this one though but the Himalaya neem face wash helped in treating my acne to some extent. Maybe not all products of Himalaya are that effective
