Hair & Care Moisturizing Fruit Oils with Orange, Anaar & Strawberry Review

by Sreeparna Ganguly

Winter is the time when my hair gets extremely dry and dandruff-prone. So, I like to keep my hair and scalp moisturized all the time during those cold months. Sadly, oiling gives me pimples but I still do frequent heavy-oiling to prevent flaky scalp issue. Hair & Care is one of my favorite hair oil brands because this brand has some very light formula oils which I can use pre as well as post-shampoo. Recently they have launched a new range of fruit enriched hair oils. Today I will be reviewing Hair & Care Moisturizing Fruit Oils with Orange, Anaar & Strawberry from the new range. This is my first hair oil that contains the goodness of Orange, Pomegranate, and Strawberry; these three ingredients are mostly found in skin care arena rather than Haircare. Here is what I have to say about this oil.

Hair & Care Moisturizing Fruit Oils with Orange, Anaar & Strawberry Review 1

Price- Rs.32 for 50ml

My Experience with Hair & Care Moisturizing Fruit Oils with Orange, Anaar & Strawberry

Packaging- This hair oil comes in an attractive looking plastic bottle with the flip-top mechanism. The body of the bottle is transparent orange while its cap is colored with a deeper shade of orange. The front side of the bottle mentions colorful graphics depicting main ingredients while the back side is reserved for written details. This oil is available in 4 sizes and I bought the smallest size; the 50ml one. Still, the complete ingredient list is mentioned on the packaging. I like how this brand has considered providing the percentages of main ingredients plus the type of oil (in terms of formula).

Colour & Texture- The oil is a lightweight transparent liquid. It gets spread easily and evenly. It builds a thin layer of oil over the hair strands; not thick layer like organic coconut oil. It is not a sticky oil so I sometimes use it after shampoo. I am really sad to say that there is 65% mineral oil in the formula. We all know mineral oil never seeps down the hair shafts; it just sits there over the strands making a restorative layer. The second main ingredient of this oil is a vegetable oil (26% of the formula) and the rest is filled up with the oils of Anaar, Orange, and Strawberry. I feel the oil should not be named after the fruits because they appear in just a minimal percentage in the formula.

Fragrance- The fragrance of this oil is awesome. It is sweet and fruity to smell. I really like how it smells. The fragrance is very mild and does not stay for long.

Experience- When I first knew about this oil I was really excited to try it because of its alluring ingredients; Orange, Pomegranate, and Strawberry. But from the ingredient list, it is clear that the fruit oils are used only minimally in the formula. That makes me say, this oil is nothing but another variant of the old Hair & Care hair oil. The packaging is very eye-candy and the fragrance is great. But the after-effects of this oil are similar to the old variant.  I have used this oil 3-4 times for overnight oiling and it nourished my hair well (probably due to the vegetable oil in it). I needed extra shampoo while rinsing the oil off from the hair but not too much. The hair became more manageable than the ‘no-oil-before’ times and there were less tangles. The sticky feel of normal coconut oil was not there as well. I still got the usual zits due to the presence of vegetable oil in it but thankfully that pimple went away in just 1-2 days without any dark marks.

Hair & Care Moisturizing Fruit Oils with Orange, Anaar & Strawberry Review 4

Pros-
  1. Nourishes hair but does not give sticky feeling
  2. Does not need too much extra shampoo to get rinsed
  3. Smells awesome
  4. Pocket-friendly and travel-safe packaging
Cons-
  1. A number of fruit oils is minimal in the formula
  2. Contains mineral oil
Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

I will probably repurchase this Hair & Care Moisturizing Fruit Oils with Orange, Anaar & Strawberry because I keep a light-weight hair oil for after shampoo purpose for as a replacement for hair serums. If you are someone who likes lightweight hair oils with a light fragrance like Bajaj Almond Drops etc. then you will find this oil to be a good one. Otherwise, you may skip with ease!

Thanks a lot :love
This is just an average non-sticky hair oil nothing too good as nourishing organic oils. I love it for the fragrance and lightness :-)
