Fair and Lovely BB Instant Fair Look Fairness Cream Review

by Arikaa Panda

BB creams have become popular quite recently in India. Who doesn’t wants to look good every second of every day? Nobody wants to go all overboard with make-up when going to college, work or just meeting with a few friends. But we do want to look and feel pretty while doing everyday stuff. BB creams make this task a little bit easier. A little bit of tinted lip-balm, a stroke of kajal and a little bit of BB on our face and we are good to go. Fair & Lovely has been in the market for a long time. They have recently released its new BB instant fair look. Fair & Lovely remains to be a favorite among many people since long. It has been on the market for so long that even our parents have used it at least once in their lifetime. I decided to give the new Fair & Lovely BB cream a try.

What does the brand claim?

Fair & Lovely claims that “It is a fairness cream with a makeup finish. An expert product that brings together the benefits of foundation and fairness cream. Fair & Lovely BB Cream combines the expert fairness treatment of Advanced Multi Vitamin with an instant make-up like finish for all-day radiance.”

How to use?

After cleansing your face, pat it dry. Then take a little amount of BB in your palm or apply directly on the face in the form of small dots. Spread it all over your face and massage it in a circular fashion. Focus more on areas of discoloration and blemishes.

My Experience with Fair and Lovely BB Instant Fair Look Fairness Cream

Fair & Lovely was my first BB cream. Being a busy college student, BB cream was the perfect solution as a substitute for foundation. Another reason for buying this product was its small size tube and affordable price. The main problem is that if you use a little too much of this product, it would make your face look flaky and powdery. It also dries out your face a bit, but since I have oily skin it didn’t cause much of a problem. The thing I hated the most was that it doesn’t last long during summer time, so if you live in a place where the climate is humid you might need to reapply is quite frequently. The final result wasn’t as spotless and radiant as they claim to show in their advertisements, but it did cover my blemishes to a certain extent.

Overall Performance of Fair and Lovely BB Instant Fair Look Fairness Cream

Pros

  • It’s very affordable as compared to other BB creams.
  • The size is travel-friendly as it can fit into any bag or purse or even in our pockets.
  • SPF 15 PA++
  • Non-oily finish, but can make dry skin look even drier.

Cons

  • Doesn’t last long in humid weather, so has to be applied quite frequently.
  • Gives a powdered finish.
  • It comes in only one shade, unlike other BB creams.
  • Doesn’t quite cover all the marks and blemishes as claimed.

Would I repurchase and recommend this product?

I probably would use this product as long as it lasts. But I would like to try other options of BB creams that are available in the market. In my opinion, it’s not a total waste of money but I did expect a lot more from them. The great thing about the product was that it’s perfect for everyday college look where you don’t get enough time to use make-up, so I would definitely recommend it to college going girls who do not want a costly product for everyday use.  :)
