Essence Sun Club Bronzer Review

Essence Sun Club Bronzer  : Hello ladies! Bronzers are a must-have for every makeup junkie. Although many Indians don’t like applying bronzers on their face, primarily because of the age-old concept of having a brighter or fairer skin, however, it is an important product which gives a healthy and natural look to the face. Even during the days when I don’t feel like putting too much makeup on, I have to apply bronzer after applying foundation because otherwise, I feel like my skin just looks pale. Bronzers give a nice sun-kissed look to the face and bring out an overall glow to the entire look.

I’ve been lusting over bronzers a lot lately and I must admit this was an impulsive buy. Essence is a new brand that I’ve recently come across and due to their amazingly affordable products, I was tempted to give it a try. Although I hadn’t tried products of this brand before, I did saw some fairly good reviews of this brand by several youtube and honestly, at this price, I didn’t feel like purchasing it wouldn’t be the worst thing.Let’s look at the Essence Sun Club Shimmer Bronzing Powder 20 Suntanned review.

Essence Sun Club Shimmer Bronzing Powder 20 Suntanned

My experience with Essence Sun Club Bronzer

Packaging:

The product comes in a clear plastic container and this see-through packaging makes it easier to identify the shade. It is small and light enough to easily fit anywhere during traveling. The cap closes tightly and there are no chances of fallout. The product doesn’t come with a mirror or an applicator but due to its cheap price, I am not complaining. The thing that struck me the most was the beautifully embossed structure of a lady in the product which is super pretty and feminine.

Texture and Fragrance:

The bronzer has a very smooth and powdery texture. It applies well to skin and blends nicely. It has fine shimmers in it but it is not overpowering and on applying, it gives a nice shine which looks natural. I love the finish of this product and it feels really soft on both fingers and face. It doesn’t feel highlight dry patches on the skin. It looks very sheer on the first application, however it is very buildable and doesn’t look cakey even after applying a lot of layers.

Moving onto fragrance, I feel like it smells like vanilla but the smell is too strong for me. However, the smell fades so this is not an issue for me.

Shade:

The product comes in two shades, not much variety to choose from. I chose the shade ’02 Suntanned’ for darker skin. Right off the bat, this would do nothing for dark skin tone. I feel like this is suitable for fair to medium skin tone. On the first application, I barely saw any color but it is buildable so after multiple swipes, I did notice a nice golden-brown look which is what I wanted. But the shade is not pigmented enough and if you have a wheatish skin-tone you would have to build up the color. It looks pretty when I want a slightly tanned and glowy look but this wouldn’t serve the purpose of contouring as it is very sheer.

Overall I would say this is the kind of product you can go for is you want a subtle non-touring look which is gorgeous at times but for a highly-sculpted look, this will not be a great option. Also, it does transfer a little.

Longevity:

Of course, due to its sheer finish, it cannot last long. In fact, it starts to fade just a few hours after application. But it would last longer with a primer and full makeup. Also, even after fading it does leave a golden sheen on the face. I love having a natural and glowy look so I’m not mad at this product because it leaves a nice glow to a face and it helps to achieve a sun-kissed look.

The product doesn’t irritate my skin or clogs pores. It feels fresh and doesn’t make my skin oily.

Overall, as a bronzer, it doesn’t work that well. However, it gives a nice golden sheen on my face which I love. The quality of the product is nice and it gives my face a nice sun-kissed look.

Would I recommend/repurchase?

I am slightly torn with this product as I do like the natural, glowy look that it gives me but I’m not a fan of its bronzing capacity. If you are looking for a bronzer with good contouring ability, you might wanna pass this one. However, at such an affordable price, this is not a bad product to have in your vanity.
