Who is it for? Elle18 Silk Lipstick R04 is an affordable, good quality, silky finish lipstick.

Price: INR100 for 4.2gm.

My experience with Elle18 Silk Lipstick R04

Packaging: 

Elle18 color pops silk lipstick comes in a standard black, opaque packaging. A white sticker at the top and bottom bears the shade number. The absence of the shade name and/or color coding makes it difficult for the identification of the color. The ingredients list is also not present. The packaging is travel-friendly.

Shade:

 R04 is a red shade with blue undertones. As the color payoff is good, the exact shade is obtained in just one swipe. The color can be modified by building it up/down.

Texture and pigmentation:

As the name suggests, this lipstick is silky smooth and glides on easily on the lips. The lipstick contains cocoa butter and vitamin E which tends to keep the lips hydrated for long. The lipstick does not get patchy on building it up, neither settles in the fine lines of the lips.

The pigmentation is pretty impressive.

Staying power:

These lipsticks stay put for 2-3 hours after which it starts fading from the center of the lips. On fading, it leaves a nice tint.

Also, this lipstick is not smudge proof. It transfers a lot and barely survives meals.

Fragrance:

It has a mild fruity fragrance that fades away on the application.

Experience:

If you’re looking for a red shade that can be easily worn daily, without coming off as bold or starkly, then elle18 silk lipstick in the shade R04 is for you. The red color has a blue undertone to it which makes it a subtle shade of red. The formulation of the lipstick is soft, smooth which keeps the lips hydrated. The quality and quantity of this price range are outstanding. It’s a shade that would suit every skin tone. The only disappointing thing about this product is that its not transfer proof. A frequent reapplication after 3 hours is required.

What I dislike about this product?

1. Identification of the shade is difficult.
2. Non-smudge proof

Would I recommend/repurchase this product?

I prefer elle18 Matte lipsticks over the silk lipstick. The formulation in both of these products is pretty similar. But the matte ones are a bit more lasting than the silk ones. Therefore, I won’t be repurchasing this product.
