Do Bananas Work for Constipation?  : Constipation is a common health problem. It mainly happens because of irregular bowel movements.  There are many reasons for constipation, ranging from poor diet to lack of exercise to medical issues.

Constipation is something that can be easily cured at home.  Some say bananas work best to cure constipation while others believe it causes constipation. The debate is never-ending.

They tend to absorb water and make the stool softer, hence making them easy to excrete. This helps improve the movement of the stool through your digestive system.

Green Bananas Are High In Resistant Starch:

Resistant starch is a complex carb and it has fiber-like properties. It escapes digestion in the small intestine and ends up reaching the large intestine, where it feeds the friendly bacteria that reside there. Feeding these bacteria is a good thing. They produce short-chain fats, which contributes to digestive health and have beneficial effects on metabolism.

Hence, whether banana makes you constipated totally depends on your individual constitution.

The evidence suggests that bananas are the cure to constipation rather than a cause. Still, some of the studies show that many believe bananas make them feel constipated.

If you are one of them, reduce the number of intakes or completely stop consuming them.

At the end of the day, everyone has a different body type, things work differently for everyone. So if banana tends to remove constipation for one person, it might cause it in another person.
