DIY Listerine Foot Soak Recipe: With the summer approaching, we all want to be sporting funky slippers and heels. But the winters ruined our feet because no one has the time to take care of their feet of all things in their busy lives. So here we are, with cracked, roughed-up feet. And those same old creams won’t work either that effectively, nor that quickly.

If this is your story too, and you are wondering if that crazy, crazy idea you had vaguely heard abt mouthwash working wonders for feet is true, well good news: it is true.

Seriously, a half an hour’s soak of Listerine mouthwash is the answer to all your foot problems. No kidding. As wacky as this idea sounds, the more you think abt it, the more sense it makes. An antiseptic mouthwash is used to kill the bacteria in such a sensitive part of our body. When the same antiseptic, soft treatment is given to our rock hard feet, it will end up softening and healing them. But of course, we need to give it time to work its magic.

So there we have our DIY for cracked heels.

Listerine Foot Soak Recipe

The basic recipe is to just add a cup of Listerine or any antiseptic mouthwash to warm water and you are done. But for better results, adding vinegar works amazingly well. It can be white or apple cider and it is totally optional. So the DIY should go like:

– Take a small plastic tub.

– Add 1 cup Listerine to it.

– Add 1 cup Vinegar.

– Add 2 cups of warm water.

– Soak your feet in it for 30 mins.

– After 30 mins, take them out, and rub gently with pumice stone/scrubby sponge.

– Wash off the dead skin, dry feet with towel and voila!

– Moisturise if you wish to.

Please note that the quantity mentioned is just a ratio, you can add as much as you need/want, as long as you maintain the ratio. Also, the 30 mins time slab is what is ideal, you can do it for 15 minutes if you are a busy person and 1 hour if you have got the time. The more the better, though.

Do this DIY every day if you please, or once a week, depending on the repair needed.

Effects

You will notice a difference after the first soak itself. And that is saying something. But what is even more awesome is that while it works wonders for cracked heels, it works wonders for your entire feet actually. It penetrates into your skin and heals it from within with its antiseptic properties. It softens them, rids them off callouses, significantly reduces swelling and also clears out bacteria.

That is more than enough to want off a mouthwash working for your feet. And even still, it offers yet another benefit as it relaxes you when you soak your feet in warm water and rest yourself for 30 minutes. It would be the best idea to indulge in this DIY after a long, tiring day.
