In today’s urban life stress and anxiety have become common concerns. Our life has been on the move and we have to match our pace with it to survive in this tough environment. This head-spinning pace is blurring our mind and we are finding ourselves into the grasp of stress and its one of the concerning consequences, depression. Although anxiety and depression are two big words, preventing them requires just a little bit of effort and consciousness from our side. There are lots of stress relieving measures which can be performed at individual level including meditation, Tai Chi and much more. Out of all these techniques, Yoga is my favorite. Today I am going to bring your attention to 5 super easy yoga poses that can release as well as prevent stress with regular practice. They are quite doable so people belonging to any fitness level can perform these without fearing about side-effects.
Sukhasana or Easy Pose:
I find Sukhasana or Easy Pose to be the easiest and relaxing yoga pose out of all the sitting yoga poses I have ever learned. In this pose, one has to sit straight and cross legged placing hands on the thighs. This pose brings out the inner calmness and increases the feeling of tranquillity. The body gets the chance to release the accumulated pressure and anxious state of mind.
Vajrasana or Thunderbolt Pose:
Vajrasana or Thunderbolt Pose is a very popular yoga pose for treating various digestion disorders but this pose is equally good for stress relief purposes. This pose is so rejuvenating that most Pranayama or breathing exercises are done while the body is held in this pose. This sitting posture requires the total body weight to be placed over the lower portion of the leg. The time span to hold the pose is used to free up the mind to bring down the stress level.
Baddha Konasana or Bound Angle Pose:
Baddha Konasana or Bound Angle Pose is a sitting posture in which one needs to bring ankles of the feet closer to the pelvis region with the help of the palms. This pose not only releases mental tension but also cools down the bodily stresses. It helps to have undisturbed sleeping hours which in turn works as a miracle anxiety-relief.
Bhujangasana or Cobra Pose:
Bhujangasana or Cobra Pose is a half-up & half-down kind of yoga pose that unwinds body muscles and emphasizes on strengthening the spine. This pose can cure various painful health issues like spondylitis and backache. The mind loosens up from a tiring day’s share of stress and tensions as the bodily fatigue gets slackened. The success of this de-stressing exercise depends highly on the proper order of inhalation and exhalation.
Savasana or Corpse Pose:
The main aim of Savasana or Corpse Pose is to provide complete placidity. In this pose, one has to lie down like a corpse keeping slight distance between the feet. This pose is often performed as the cool-down pose after much difficult yoga poses. In this pose, one needs to numb down the alertness of the body by relaxing certain pressure sensitive zones. This way the mind gets relaxed automatically and stress-generated headaches, nausea, and sleep disorders reduce miraculously.
