As I have mentioned in earlier reviews…I totally adore bright lipsticks. Red is one of my favorite shades and I had been searching for a reddish-orange shade for a pretty long time. I spotted the body shop Havanna red during a random store visit and really liked the hand Swatch. TBS is one of my preferred brands I thought this would be a good investment…

Brand Claim 

You would obviously know this…TBS cosmetics are a little pricey!!  However, they are also 100 percent vegan and hypoallergenic..( very important for a breakout-prone girl like me) Here is what the body shop true matte line claims.

“our lipsticks are Made with high-purity pigments and they are 100% vegetarian. The true-matte lipstick line is enriched with Community Trade Brazil Nut Oil and beeswax. These components promise a healthy, long-lasting finish”

My Experience with The Body Shop Havanna Red Matte Lipstick (410)

The body shop lipsticks are mostly decent to look at with a low frills packaging. This one comes in a classic black case with a red ( this shade doesn’t match the lipstick color) shaded portion bearing the body shop logo and sticker. The quality of the packaging is nice…I found the lipstick to be sturdy and travel-friendly.

When I swiped it on my hand I got a coral color on my skin tone. This one is distinctly orange-red and you require two applications to bring out the red color. The pigmentation is good and the formula is really matte…good for the sweaty humid climate.

My lips are dry and I used a balm before applying the Havanna red. As mentioned the texture is truly matte…there is no shine and the color is a gorgeous mix of orange and red. Contrary to what was claimed I found the lipstick to be a little drying at first. The color consistency is smooth though and it spread out easily on my lips. The color stayed for 4 hours…with an all natural composition claim TBS lipsticks don’t usually exceed the 4-hour stay frame …

Overall Performance of The Body Shop Havanna Red Matte Lipstick (410)

The USP of this lipstick is it’s a lovely color. I have dark brown eyes and slightly yellow-tinged skin..it accentuates my complexion. I have this idea that this color would look lovely on women with hazel or lighter eyes…This is basically a versatile shade…wear it for a brave day look and carry it on till the evening with some winged liner for the company.  It has been months since I am using this one and I have no idea why I didn’t review this earlier. The thing is TBS is mostly viewed as a fantastic personal care brand and we don’t really pay much attention to its makeup line.

This one is lovely if you don’t mind the rather low staying power and love orange undertones like me 🙂

Would I recommend?

This is one of my Staples now… will repurchase next summer for sure. All you gorgeous ladies who love bold lips do give this one a shot!!
