Bioderma Photoderm Spot SPF 50 Review

by Sone

Bioderma Photoderm Spot SPF 50: Sunscreens are essential all year round. In an earlier post I had mentioned three types of sunscreen creams you must have. One heavy duty sunscreen for beach days and hands and feet. I have reviewed it – the Bioderma Photoderm Spot SPF 50here. One sunscreen is a daily antioxidant based; you can use this one or this one. But this sunscreen is for the third case…the case when you have pigmentation or acne scars. If you need something for scars, this just might be there for you!!

What is it and who is it for?

A sunscreen for scars specifically.

Price:

Rs 1400 for 30 ml

How to Use:

Several times a day – When exposed to the sun

Apply evenly and liberally before exposure (a smaller amount of product reduces the level of photo protection).Re-apply frequently, before and after swimming, rubbing and playing sports.

Do not expose babies or young children to the sun.

Excessive sun exposure is harmful to your health.

My Experience with the Bioderma Photoderm Spot SPF 50

This is a sunscreen that had been hugely raved by my friends. It vanished their scars in 6 months!! Great no?

So I promptly went ahead and purchased this. This is actually a really pricy tube in a small tube. The sunscreen has a liquidish texture, much like the Neutrogena SPF 50. It is a bit greasy …actually not the right word…it forms an uneasy film on the face. The face gets really oily after a while.

I actually hate using this. BUT this thing works.

So what’s the solution?

Apply a small amount on the scars and brown spots. Let this stay for a bit. The apply a light sunscreen on the entire face. This one from Plum Goodness is a really great choice!

Bioderma Spot SPF 50 review 3

Positives
  • Actually diminishes scars
  • Did not break me out
Negatives
  • Expensive
  • Tacky to apply on face
  • Makes skin feel oily
Overall Would I repurchase and recommend?

Despite its obvious negatives-I recommend this for those with scars and pigmentation spots on the face. I recommend it as a spot treatment.
