Best Pimple Cream in India ? Biotique Bio Winter Green Spot Correcting Anti-acne Cream: Out of all the non-prescription acne cures, Salicylic Acid has shown pretty good results on my skin. I have type-2 acne prone skin which means my skin’s tendency to develop new acne from any irritant is moderate-to-high. By far, the best preventive measures for my acne breakouts have been regular exfoliation and pore cleansing (other than maintaining a healthy diet and sleep routine). Recently I got a bad acne bout of cystic acne and that time I tried out Biotique Bio Winter Green Spot Correcting Anti-acne Cream for the first time. The presence of 1% wintergreen oil was the reason I got this cream often touted as the best pimple cream. Wintergreen contains a near neighbor of Salicylic Acid, Methyl Salicylate. Methyl Salicylate is a skin-friendly substance that is commonly found in mouth fresheners and pain balms. Let’s read on to know if this cream actually works on acne or not.

My Experience with Biotique Bio Winter Green Cream

Packaging- This cream comes in a white tub with a deep green lid. The tub is tiny because it holds only 15gm of product. The tub is not at all a hygienic way of packaging plus this cream is especially for treating microbe induced skin issue acne. So, I can’t give high scores in the packaging department even if the mini tub is very sturdy and travel-friendly sort of thingy.

Colour & Texture- It is a milky white color medium dense cream. The cream is light on the skin. It gets absorbed quickly if it is rubbed on the skin but rubbing is certainly not the best way to use this cream. This cream needs to be gently applied on active or puss filled pimples with minimum friction possible.

Fragrance- This cream has wintergreen as the main ingredient so it smells exactly like wintergreen. You might relate its fragrance with common pain relief balms like Vicks. I have migraine problem and wintergreen enriched products often feel very refreshing to me. I love using this cream because of its fragrance. If you do not like this scent then this product might not be the best choice.

Experience- I generally let my pimples heal by themselves which takes at least 5-7 days in my case. These days I am having lots of weddings to attend so pimple on my entire face is not even an option! This cream came in my vanity so that I can get ‘reduced pimple’ face to work on my makeup looks. Most of us with persistent acne issues have to go through this phase of life! I dot this pimple cream on my pimples with a clean cotton bud. I apply just a thin layer of the cream. I do that 3-4 times a day depending on the intensity of my pimples. This one works but a bit slower than prescription drugs. It shrinks my pimples in 3-4 days which I find promising for an over-the-counter product like this. This cream gives a nice cooling sensation to the skin where it is being applied. But, I would like to mention one thing here, this cream works only on puss filled acne. Pimples that appear in small zits won’t go off with this cream.

3. Cooling action calms the irritating feel of pimples
4. Nice fresh fragrance of wintergreen
5. It is a spot corrector so it won’t dehydrate entire face like acne face washes
6. Contains 1% wintergreen oil
7. Affordable and easily available

Cons-

1. Unhygienic tub packaging
2. If your skin is sensitive to Salicylic Acid then this product might not suit you
3. Composition of the base product is not mentioned clearly
4. Does not cure all type of acne
5. Does not clear blemishes

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

It is effective acne reducing cream that works on bumpy puss-filled pimples. Enriched with wintergreen, this cream cools down the skin and shrinks my pimples in 3-4 days. I am going to repurchase this. I will suggest this cream to people with acne prone skin and especially those who have active acne on their skin.
