Jewelry that women wear is the identity of any culture. Presenting to you, the Rajputana jewellery styles. They are so rich and royal in appeal, that you will definitely aspire to them :D

#Rakhdi, Sheeshfool, and Borla

Maang tikka is called Borla or Rakhdi in Rajasthan, which is the most famous of all the maang tikkas. It looks different from the regular mang tikas. It is spherical or bell-like. It has gold, studded with kundans, meena, and pearls. You can easily recall the look of Aishwarya Rai in Jodha Akbar and connect ;) Few brides support their Borla with two side chains or Sheeshfool, which is detachable.

These days’ brides are not hesitating to experiment and so we have a modern version of Borla in markets. Here a chandbali shaped maang tikka is attached to the traditional Borla or Rakhdi.

Sensitive Skin Alert?

Avoid if you have acne prone skin.

How to Use:

Gently apply on a wet face, and rinse off with cold water. Avoid contact with eyes.

My Experience with L’Oreal White Perfect Purifying and Brightening Milky Foam

Packaging:

This face wash comes in the standard drugstore plastic tube. I find the tube packaging to be very sturdy and convenient. It is lightweight and perfectly travel-friendly!

Texture:

The texture of this face wash is very very soft! When applied on damp hands, it lathers quickly. The lather is not your usual one. The foam is very soft and sudsy. It almost feels like applying a soft cream. Absolutely love the feel and consistency. A small dime sized amount is enough to cover the entire face and neck.

Effectiveness:

I really love the way it leaves my skin so super soft and supple. There is no oily film left on my skin. My skin does not feel stretchy or dry. This face wash is a great product for winters! In summers I like something more refreshing. Still, I use it every morning, even in summers. This face wash has become an integral part of my skin care regimen.

Positives
  1. Cleans and nourishes your skin
  2. Lightens and makes it glow
  3. Helps with blemishes and pigmentation
  4. Does not dry up your face
Negatives
  1. Cost slightly on the higher side.
  2. Not easily available in departmental stores.
  3. Not many antioxidants
  4. Not natural
Would I repurchase and recommend?

Absolutely, give it a go.

Who is it for? The Body Shop Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm Raspberry is for those looking for fruity lip balms for dry lips.

Body Shop Born Lippy Raspberry Review (2)

Price:   Rs 275 for 10 gm.
How to Use:

Apply daily morning and evening on exfoliated lips. Reapply as and when needed. Don’t apply too much, or the lips will start feeling sticky.

My Experience with  The Body Shop Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm Raspberry:

Packaging:

This lip balm comes in a really cute little pot. Although the packaging is very travel-friendly, I don’t like that it is a pot. Every time I need to apply the lip balm, I have to go wash my hands first. I do this so that no bacteria develop in the container. A tube packaging would have been much more preferable.

Texture:

The texture of the lip balm is like Vaseline, just a bit lighter. Be careful when you apply this. If you apply too much of the product, your lips will become sticky. I hate that! Even though the lip balm has a strong fruity smell in the pot; it smells light and fresh on the lips. It tastes good too :)

Body Shop Born Lippy Raspberry Review (4)

Effectiveness:

As soon as I apply it, my lips feel moisturized. Over a period of time, I have seen the pigmentation fade away. So it’s a very good product if you are looking at removing pigmentation. I personally feel that any other product might have done the same thing— as Vaseline had caused my pigmentation, so not using it also helped. The lip balm has a visible pink tint and is great for a casual yet fresh look, without applying lipstick. I use it as a lipstick base and it works well that ways. Due to its sticky nature, it helps the lipstick stay longer.

If on the other hand, you are looking for something to TREAT dry lips, this is not the product for you. As long as you apply the lip balm, lips become soft. But the effect wears off with the lip balm. You need to reapply this frequently.

Positives
  1. Moisturizes your lips immediately
  2. Lightens and makes it pink
  3. Helps with dark spots on lips
  4. Feels fresh and smells really fruity
Negatives
  • No SPF
  • It feels sticky if you apply too much of it
  • Moisturization Effect is not long stay
Would I repurchase and recommend?

No. It is an average product. You want heavy-duty repair, this will not work. If you like the scent and color, buy this for that only. You will enjoy it then. This a good daily use lip balm.

Hair Spa at Home ! Step by Step Guide

Hair Spa at Home ! Step by Step Guide

by vineeta singh

Hair Spa at Home: This is Every Woman’s dream!! There I was, at the doorstep of a famous salon, to get an Oil Spa. Oh, how I loved it!! But, you know how much did it cost me? Rs 1500, back in 2006!! Damn straight, I cannot afford to spend that much on a regular basis! I decided this oil spa, has to be done at home. I researched a lot, just to find the right technique. Trust me it works wonders! I have never looked back :D. Oil Spa / Hair Spa has the following 5 steps which are easy and effective if properly done :

Hair Spa at Home ! Step by Step Guide

#1 The Oil Massage

Head oil massage or champii is the first step, you need someone’s help or you can DIY :). I like to put on some soft music and get comfortable in a chair. I divide my hair into four sections i.e. front, bottom and the sides. Take the oil (I usually mix coconut oil with jojoba in the ratio of 4:1) in my palms (enough for one section), and apply gently on one section. I massage the oil in circular motion. Repeat this for 3 to 4 minutes per section. Comb each section and the entire hair, after the oiling is done. This will smooth out any tangles.

Relax for an hour or so till the oil gets absorbed.

#2 Hot Towel Therapy

Dip a towel in hot water and squeeze it to remove excess water. Make sure that the towel is not too hot before wrapping it around your hair. Do this for about 5 minutes. Dip the towel in hot water again in case it gets cold. This usually happens in cold weather.

#3 Shampooing

Now it is time to wash your hair. Use a mild shampoo and cold water to wash away the oil in your hair. Make sure that all oil has been washed out and your hair feels clean.

#4 Conditioning

Now at the fourth step when your hair is clean and oil free, let’s give it some conditioning by some good conditioner of your choice. You can also use water tea leaves with few drops of lemon in it. Rinse it off after 20 mins with just lukewarm water.

#5 Hair Mask

Now the last step and the crucial one is to apply a homemade mask for your lovely locks. Take two eggs in a bowl (only whites) +2 ts honey+2ts coconut oil or olive oil+half ripe banana (banana softens your hair). I shall do the step by step DIY for hair masks soon. Now apply and leave for about 20 mins on your hair, rinse with mild shampoo. You can also use a store-bought hair mask. Remember, the final rinse should be with cold water.

Hurray !! You have just done your Hair Oil Spa at home. Now get ready to flaunt your beautiful tresses. Do share your experiences after using it. I am sure you will thank me later :)
