Anastasia Beverly Hills What is Hot and What is Not !

by Sreeparna Ganguly

Anastasia Beverly Hills is a USA based premium makeup brand that makes some of the best and widely loved and crazed over eyebrow enhancers, eye makeup, and facial sculpting products. Own by a Romanian origin aesthetician Anastasia Soare, this brand has taken the brow art to a new horizon using the Golden Ratio technique. Starting from a Los Angeles salon called Anastasia Beverly Hills, this brand’s customer list includes Kardashian family, Naomi Campbell, Oprah Winfrey and much more known Hollywood names. This brand’s Instagram page has exceeded the popularity of even MAC’s. This brand gained its fame from its unique eyebrow enhancing products but in the recent years they have come out with some really cool and widely craved for contour kits, highlighters, eye shadows, lip colors, etc. Today we are going through the cult favorites and some ‘not-so-good’s from this brand.

HOT! HOT !! HOT !!!

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz & Brow Definer:

Anastasia Beverly Hill as a brand came into the focus with their brow products and their Brow Wiz and Brow Definer are two greatest hit of all the time. While the Brow Wiz is among the oldest bestsellers among them, the Brow Definer is a comparatively new addition to the ABH family. Both of these equally priced products give each other tough competition for places on the bestseller list. Brow Definer has slanted tip brow tint and provides darker tint whereas the Brow Definer has conical pencil tip and is best suited for thinner brows. Both of these have 10 shades in their shade range catering the needs of blondest brows to darkest.

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade :

The Dipbrow Pomade may be counted as a revolutionary product from Anastasia’s brow collection. This one was launched first in the ’90s and was discontinued as the naturally thicker brow was far from the horizon of the trend. It was launched again later in ’00s and since then it has been sticking to its place every luxury beauty enthusiast’s brow enhancing dream. This one is available in 11 shades and is highly praised for its perfect texture, tint and capacity to provide a natural yet firm hold. Check out its review.

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette :

The Modern Renaissance is one of the best-received eyeshadow kits under $45 category. It includes 14 well-pigmented shadows each of which would do fair to Indian skin tones. They have blendable texture and a nice blend of shimmer, satin and matte eyeshadows for creating complete looks out of them. The warmth of the shades is really something to talk about; you can even do your whole face of makeup (blush, highlighter, eye looks) with it. So, this is definitely a must-have from ABH.

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Original Contour Kit & Contour Cream Kit:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick

The Original Contour Kit and Contour Cream Kit are all-in-one kind of face-sculpting palette containing 3 highlight and 3 contour shades with a remarkable color pay-off and blending capacity. The Original Kit is a powder kit whereas the Cream Kit brings you the shades in cream form. The USP of Original Contour Kit is that you will be actually able to use all the shades on yourself; no shade will remain untouched as it happens with most such highlight-contour palettes. The Cream Kit, on the other hand, will be your favorite if you are a makeup artist and want a universal highlight-contour-correct palette that you can use on people across skin tone. 1. Subculture Palette:

Ever since this eyeshadow palette’s launch, the beauty world is seeing lots of controversies regarding the effectiveness of it. Unlike the other eyeshadow palettes from Anastasia, the majority of the shades of this palette are prone to extreme fallout. The eyeshadows are more likely to be packed pigments which are very very hard to work with for even the pros. For this high a price point lots and lots of premium eye palettes are there in the market without these cons.

  1. Foundation Stick:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick 2

Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Stick Foundation is great in terms of the wideness of the shade range but it certainly is not suited for every skin type. Due to its stiff texture, its blendability becomes questionable. While its matte formula fairs extremely oily skin, its drying nature often exaggerates dry patches on dry or combination skin. Unless you have a super smooth skin like fashion models, there are high chances that the acne bumps or pores of your face would look emphasized. So this stick foundation from Anastasia Beverly Hills is a tricky product to invest upon. Full review and swatches here.

I know many people are going to kill me for including these highly raved liquid lipsticks in the ‘not-so-good’ category but still, it is what it is. ABH’s liquid lipstick range has some great shades from every category; there are reds, fuchsias, plums, neutrals even blues and lavenders. All the shades are quite pigmented too but the shades are somehow inconsistent across the range. While there are the super even shades like Rio, there also are extra-dry and patchy shades like Sweet Talker. We Indians have naturally deeper tints on our lips and that is why some shades might give us an uneven finish which is not the case with paler skin tones than ours. So do thorough research before opting for a particular shade of these liquid lipsticks.
